This place is such a vibe and I loved it! Not only was the atmosphere great with cool deco to look at but the food was absolutely amazing and the people who work there are so pleasant! I got the garden breakfast sandwich and it was perfection. It’s like they added some love to it or something because I’ve never had a breakfast sandwich that yummy! Such a great experience!
Cozy cafe vibe, nice made to order options and fresh baked goods. A neighborhood favorite.
FIRE! Got the garden sandwich and it was perfect! This is somethin that makes me truly realized you don’t need meat on your sandwich for it to be delicious and nutritious
Warm muffins straight from the oven absolutely made my morning. This cozy and spacious cafe is a delight.
delicious food, great service, welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. the brownies are great!
Tasty $4 sausage egg and cheese breakfast tacos! Great house made salsa!
Personable, a perfect way to start the day! The coffee shop is an intimate shop you can come and have vegan pastries and delicious coffee. Definitely glad I stopped in!
I love this place! They have great coffee and breakfast tacos. I used to live right down the street and am happy to find they're still serving quality food and drinks in a cozy atmosphere.
I love stopping by Costello’s Cafe & Bakery after work. The atmosphere felt cozy from the moment I walked in, and the smell of fresh coffee made it hard not to smile. I tried their zucchini chocolate muffin, and it really hit the spot—moist, flavorful, and just sweet enough. I paired it with a matcha latte, which was smooth and comforting. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the menu offered a nice range of breakfast options. Overall, it’s a great place to start the day, and I’ll definitely be back.
Kyle and Miko are the best

I visit Portland a few times a year and stay in this part of town, and Costello’s is my go-to place for coffee, breakfast, pastry and some laptop time. Love the live views of life in distant cities! Coffee, baked goods, sandwiches and wraps - all very good, and friendly staff. No dedicated parking but I’ve always had good luck on the street out front.
Unfathomably slow kitchen, truly depressing, the sunken place beyond the gaze of reason
EDIT:hey kyle, maybe get back there and give the line cook you just outed a break instead of letting her work tirelessly? Poor management.
Hot chocolate tasted like water, very bland.
One of my favorite places on NE Broadway. The food is good and the service is always friendly.

New owners have made a good cafe great! Staff is friendly, personable and value your business. Owners make an effort to connect with their customers, welcome feedback, and have a really good sense of what this legacy Portland cafe is about. Community has always been Costello’s core value and that is even stronger today than it was two decades ago.
