Horrible service, we got our food before our drinks ever came out, the wait was insane and they trick you and already add in the tip before you can pick anything. Never again will step foot in that place. Worst breakfast I’ve had. Disgusted honestly.
Superb service from Jasper! And I loved my smash burger (with bacon and Swiss cheese) and cocktails. Thank you for letting me feel so welcomed for a quick overnight trip!
Honestly needs some work. Several items like toast and potatoes came out cold. The potatoes are really not good, not crisp just oily potatoes. Prices are high.
This is probably one of the best breakfast you'll ever get in Portland, or perhaps anywhere. This is a world-class breakfast fare. Don't worry about it being attached to Hyatt Centric. Just go there.
The avocado toast is simply ingenious. Served on a soft baguette that is well toasted, the egg, avocado and tomato all go beautifully together. The coffee was also something. Not bitter, not light, but bold and warming. I seldom rave about coffees at a breakfast joint but this one absolutely deserves a shout out.
Now here's the thing. The COFFEE CAKE. I have never had a coffee cake better than this in my life. Often times, these things come out stuffy and dense. Not here. Soft and fluffy, but they make the side crusts crunch for texture! And then combine this with mashed up blueberries, honey, cream and sweet raspberry. And you truly have an award-winning coffee cake. If you are reading this now, just stop, and go get yourself a coffeecake and coffee. It will make you happy. Period.
I have no idea who the patisierre or the chef is that created this coffee cake. They deserve an award of some sort.
Covet.PDX has now displaced Mother's Bistro for us as the best breakfast in downtown Portland. I'm so glad we stumbled upon this joint. Will absolutely return next time.
Surprisingly mediocre food. Cold toast, overcooked eggs, oily potatoes without much seasoning or crunch, tepid chicken sausage. Ah well!
Oh my goodness, I'm so glad I had brunch over here! Despite the place being a bit busy, I had an incredible experience! My server was so kind and attentive. She checked in on me multiple times and gave me the best recommendation for brunch! Had the avocado toast with bacon on the side 😋!!! So worth it!!! My latte was delicious as well. I can't wait to come back and try another menu item!
I feel compelled to write a review to let management know of a completely inappropriate exchange that I experienced while attempting to eat at this restaurant. I’m a globalist and wanted to have breakfast at around 9:30 am today. The restaurant was very busy and a line was forming to sit. The bus girl was frantically trying to clear tables and ignored the line forming. She shouted to the family of 3 in front of me that she had a table ready for them. I was next in the line so I figured I should tell her that I was a party of 2 (I was waiting for my husband to come down from the room). She literally laughed in my face and said “ha ha ha- I’ll call out to you when I have a table (eye roll)” i thought it was weird but didn’t say anything- I wasn’t in a rush. She then comes back to me again and says “you can sit at the bar- there’s 2 seats at the end” and then says “actually no, there’s only one so… Nevermind.. go sit over there at that table.. also by the way.. this is a self seating restaurant and I’m really busy” and I’m just like… “ok, I’m sorry.. I think people are confused” and she’s like “well I don’t know why.. there’s a huge sign that says it!!!” (Again while rollling her eyes) .. there’s literally 2 signs.. one where the restaurant is roped off that says “please wait here to be seated” and the little sign for the restaurant that says to “seat yourself”. After being spoken to with such little respect, my husband and I decided not to eat there, it would be too awkward with this hot headed person spewing negative energy and mean comments to the customers. You can keep your free meal- I will be staying at the Beaverton Hyatt going forward.
Due to my stay at the Hyatt Centric hotel, I had the possibility to enjoy breakfast here a few times. First of all the waitresses here were really quick and polite! And the food was delicious, my favorite dish was the Veggie Hash, which I would like to eat again! And I liked the openly designed atmosphere with the high ceilings and the kitchen next to it.
I was grateful to find this spot open on Christmas Morning. Thanks for the cappuccino!
Great service, terrible food.
We stopped for dinner on a whim because other places were packed. Our server was pleasant and friendly - no complaints at all. The atmosphere is fine, it’s just basically a hotel lobby but fine for what it is. The food? Oh boy.
The Mac & Cheese was described as: “Campanelle pasta, creamy Gruyere and aged white cheddar, fresh Parmesan, and breadcrumbs” but in reality looked and tasted like pasta with a very runny jarred Alfredo sauce. What’s more, it was served at only just above room temperature. Zero flavor, even with copious amounts of salt & pepper added at the table. The Rosemary Garlic Fries were a pile of fries with a boatload of minced garlic thrown on top along with some herb garnish.
Maybe this place is okay for breakfast, I don’t really know, but I’d avoid dinner at all costs.

Great breakfast included during our stay at the Hyatt Centric Downtown Portland hotel. The Rancheros are awesome, the Breakfast burrito was awesome, the 2 Egger with either bacon or sausage is awesome, and the service was great and friendly. Super fast service too.

We were staying in the hotel and thought we’d try the restaurant for breakfast. Tasty and satisfying food. We both thought it was good value for the location and quality. Friendly server and we never waited long for service. Cool atmosphere made for a great final breakfast in Portland.

We Love Covet PDX and eat there regularly. The food is all fresh and really exceeds for the approachable prices. Every server we have met has been warm, kind and attentive even when they are really slammed and busy which is really impressive these days. We are always excited to sit down at the restaurant. Highly recommend.
