Had to come back and change my review from 4 stars to 1 star for this place. I've always been a fan of Cubo de Cuba. Being from Veracruz, there has always been Cuban influences where I come from, something as simple as listening to salsa music while eating platano frito is a nostalgic feeling that not all restaurants can successfully provide.
About four years ago this place had all that but today I experienced dry, unseasoned food with a moody lady working the front. The cooks atleast smiled and had a good attitude but that lady made the experience very sour. Not sure I would recommend or come back here ever again.

Myself being Latin and living in Portland back in 2023 , this was the spot that would make me feel like I was eating food from back home. You have to try the Guava and Cheese empanadas! They are amazing!

Nice food, nice relaxed atmosphere. Both times i went out was afternoon and not a lot of people there. Ordered the pollito bowl, very filling and good value, gluten free too. Also they don't use plastic cutlery which is a big +++ for me.
Amazing place. 10 out of 10. The moment I walked , I knew i was in for a treat. The atmosphere was so fun and authentic. You could smell all the good food smells . I ordered a mojito and a cubano with tostones. The cubano itself was beyond expectation. You could tell they took time on the pork because it was packed with flavor. It was my first time having tostones and they were so delicious. Crunchy on the outside and fluffy inside....yummm....plus the mojo sauce was soooo perfect for dipping. Reminded me of a salsa verde but with a squeeze of orange and oregano. Everyone in portland should experience this place at least once.

Don't expect a finely tuned ambiance. But the food, especially from a vegetarian perspective, is superbly prepared street food. Portland has a wealth of good eating; Cuba is in our top five. Highly recommended.
