A nice hidden gem! Popped in here for the first time for Burger Week and it was the best one of the week! Great customer service (thanks Morgan!) Great price on drinks too. I'll be back!

Really good burgers and fries. The burger is hand formed, 1/2 lb and cooked medium. If I could change one thing, it would be the lettuce. The iceberg makes the whole sandwich too large to eat. The fries are cut from whole potatoes. They even reheat in the microwave well.
After getting a takeout burger, I got chicken fried steak the next day. It was standard diner fare (good, but not fancy). Portions were large enough to split.
I wouldn't eat there (take out only for me). Kids are allowed until 8 or 9pm, but I wouldn't say they are welcome. The ambiance is dive bar/road house/80's pizza hut.
Morning service was friendlier and more efficient than lunch time.
The staff makes your experience from front of house to back of house. Cooks, bartenders, bar backs, servers, owners, everyone. Such a sweet spot to hang out and SUCH good food.
They finally have a smoking area where you can drink about time. Money's been trying to do that for years. Insurance is too high.

I love the daily planet!
Wonderful hand pressed burgers.
Best burger in town hands down. A total secret to most. I get the mushroom burger and a nice stuff crown cola. Pure heaven
I've known about this place for, literally, decades (it was founded in 1974, so they're going on 51 years in business) but we've never been until tonight. Our loss. Old-school PDX neighborhood dive bar, comfortable, reasonably-priced fare, immaculate burgers (we had the Western Burger and the mushroom-swiss burger AND NO REGRETS) and beautifully cooked fried potatoes (the tots were just a little salty, a small flaw in an otherwise very satisfying burger meal). Staff and service were attentive enough but not too clingy.
15/10, will dine again!

Val is awesome! I was able to relax, have amazing food, and do a little work on my laptop. Thank you Daily Planet for being an awesome part of HD 48! We'll be back soon!
A dive if ever there was one. Floating and chill.
The service here is hit and miss when it's bad it's really bad. This used to be a great bar
Super friendly, fast sunday breakfast takeout. Place is all wood, beautiful bar, warm lighting. We're gonna come back for drinks. We lived so close for a while, i feel silly for never stopping in before. Extremely comfortable homey diner, and seeing the bartender at work, their drinks look great too.
We got a 2x2x2 breakfast with perfect pancakes, and chicken fried steak with rye toast and hashbrowns, all killer, eggs done just how we asked, beats out every corporate chain diner in miles.
Dont wait around like we did, this place rocks
