Daily planet is one of my favorite places to eat. Service is always good and customers for the must part are good decent people. I do miss their allowing kids to eat there. My grandkids loved their food.Parking: Parking on the same lot that the restaurant is on. There are several handicap parking spaces.

Very rude bartender on a Friday happy hour. Never have I ever felt so dang belittled by a bar staff to the point where I felt so inferior by my prensence.1st, I waved the bartender because I was clearly ignored, then her response was “stop being rude and wait like the other customers.” I had to wave a second time and she said “you still need to wait…..” I didn’t know getting the bartender’s attention when the bar was NOT busy was considered rude.2nd, when asking to sample an IPA, I get an eye roll and her saying, “you’re going to have to wait until the SMALL glasses are clean” yes she emphasized the small glasses by yelling at me that the small glasses were not clean. 5 WHOLE minutes later she then gets small glasses that were ALREADY clean from the rack and provides me the sample. I felt this was a petty action for making her work?3rd. Asked if I could have my nachos order with toppings on the side. She literally said to me, “the cooks in the back are going to LOVE your order…….” Trying to make me feel bad about an order. She Made a HUGE deal about it by sighing and eye rolling, THEN telling the cooks in the back, “this customer wants a complicated nachos by having toppings on the side and chips naked.” The cooks shrugged their shoulders and said “ meh no problem”Never have I ever had a bartender tell me that this order was complicated. I ALWAYS order my nachos with toppings on the side and never have I ever felt so belittled.This bartender is not wanting to work and made my experience here so bad as a community member of southeast Portland. I will continually talk down about daily planet as this establishment made me feel like a inferior member of the community I live in, and I have lived here for more than 30 years. Daily planet, please reconsider the bartender that was working on Friday March 1st 2024 because they made me feel like a non member of my community in southeast Portland. Please expect a formal letter of complaint to the better business bureau for the way I was treated as a consumer in the community I am a part of. I will never promote this business to my colleagues who work in an establishment next to this bar. I have never felt so belittled in my life as a consumer, and I will ensure the BBB understands through a formal letter how this bartender has made me feel on March 1st, 2024.Daily planet, please do right by the members of the southeast Portland community members and acknowledge this occurrence.

They do have video poker hfor those who do enjoy to play every once in a while.The only thing I would add to that if you don't mind being treated like a second class citizen, because you're playing video poker, then you would not be disappointed. They will make you wait For no specific reason.They will actually check their phone. As you're waiting there to cash your ticket. They will help anybody they possibly can before they will help Somebody who is standing there with a ticket in hand and has been playing video poker.

16 oz prime rib was the bomb! Best I ever had. Unfortunately they only serve it Fridays and Saturdays. Prices were reasonable and the staff was friendly. No real complaints except for the fact that the bartender was alone and serving both bar and the tables so I'm cutting her a lot of Slack. Overall a great dining experience. Will return.

Service is great and food is really good for a bar. The staff put a lot of effort into this place. No idea why more people from the neighborhood don't go here, even on major nights like NYE when you'd expect it to be busy it's pretty quiet, which is arguably good for the consumer experience but not so much for the bar. Regardless, always a good experience here!

Wow this place has been around for a long time. The bartender was super friendly and can multi-task with ease. The whole place was nice and laid back without weirdos and all of the patrons were very polite. Fun video poker but I didn't win a thing. Will be going back though, because the bartender was sooooo nice. Four paws up for a great place to go in the inner southeast neighborhood. And I could tell that this place is well respected and it was very clean and inviting. The lighting and simple yet attractive decor is a plus.

The bartender/server was just plain rude and did not seem to like her job. She seems to be annoyed that we asked for water alongside our beers, she didn't offer any menus we had to walk over & get them ourselves. She hardly checked up on us during our visit. She also disappeared outside for a good 10 mins, probably a smoke break. Although we left a 20 % tip, I did not agree with it, I would of left her little to none if it was up to only me. Food was tasteful and was quick. While I was using the ketchup another customer asked for Ketchup and the bartender/server pretty much snatched it from my space, closest to me. Very distasteful behavior.

Don’t expect prompt service at noon on a weekday….. after waiting ten minutes in the empty room, Ms. Molasses the bartender-waitress with an unfriendly attitude sauntered over AFTER THE COOK saw me. Did not appreciate the total lack of attention.

Bartender was a very rude spiteful individual that false advertises as a family restaurant. There is a sign on the side of the building that says family welcome. They are to lazy to take down the false advertising since they say they stopped serving minors during covid. That is false advertising to say you’re a family restaurant then treat customers rudely when they come to dine. Very uncomfortable and unprofessional. That bartender needs to get laid cause he clearly can’t.

I'm not impressed with this place.I've been here a couple times, but it's not a place I feel comfortable enough to return regularly.Their service is okay. It's just a seedy little place. Maybe it's the surroundings.
