The radicchio salad was way too bitter. Needs more apple and maybe a creamier dressing. The ahi crudo with coconut just seemed confusing. We thought it would be Fijian based on the ingredients. The salted pickle was not necessary. The dish had no pop. The scallops and shrimp were delicious. We had higher expectations than what was delivered.
We have always enjoyed our dinners at Davenport. We particularly like Jeremy, the Sommelier . He pairs the wines with the food exceptionally well.
Fantastic place and one of my favorites. The food is extraordinarily delicious and the best ingredients. Precise flavors not masked. Great place
head and shoulders above most Portland restaurant experiences. elevated food without pomp or pretension. wonderful wines with a kind and expert sommelier to guide your choice. nice ambiance. highly recommend!
Great food and great service. We kept wondering why we hadn't been back in so long. I don't think we'll make that mistake again.
Solid food. Not too loud if you sit at the bar. Prices are reasonable, considering the quality.
Small plates with excellent food, cooked perfectly. We started with the tallegio/dried cherry bread, followed with oysters, then scallops (which were amazingly tender/cooked perfectly, then with the gnocchi. Finishing with the one dessert they offered rhubarb rollup with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. My son and I shared all of the dishes and loved the creativeness of each dish. Morgan was delightful, helpful and very efficient. We were really interested in the gnocchi because so many places do not know how to prepare it. These were little pillows, soft and fluffy, the shrimp/tomato broth was also light, flavorful and made the dish heavenly. Parking can be a bit difficult, however do not let it dissuade you for trying this excellent restaurant.
We had dinner here on 6/20/25. The food and service were amazing. We enjoy the ambiance, it's generally quiet and we like seeing the chef fix our meal. it's a small eatery that is a welcoming neighborhood place that provides friendly service, nicely prepared fresh food that is always well prepared and the wait staff are attentive. We go 3-4 times a year and it is consistently a wonderful place to have dinner. I'd definitely recommend Davenport to anyone who wants a great dinner, wonderful service and it is reasonably priced.
The menu is a shared plates concept, offering a range of tastes that accommodates meate eaters and vegetarians. All our dishes were very good, expertly plated, and delicious.
In from SF to visit our son and had the most special wonderful meal! Fresh ingredients, creative dishes, perfect wine pairing and fabulous staff! Could not have been better!

Very attentive staff, lovely drinks, delicious food - we shared the salmon crudo to start and I had the schnitzel with asparagus (the latter in a wonderful sauce), hubby had the halibut, which he said was scrumptious. We finished with a cheese plate. Definitely on our go-back-again list!
From greeting to good-bye Davenport excels-- including time allowed to pursue the enticing menu, excellent service, and a varied selection of dishes from which it is difficult to choose. Fresh and in-season, thoughtful, creative and tenderly-prepared dishes are top-notch and unparalleled. Watching the chefs prepare dishes even from afar instills confidence that one's dinner will be memorable (and it always is). Portland is very lucky that Kurt and Keith opened Davenport (a city half-way between their hometowns) and that they recently invited Jerry (formerly of Cafe Mingo) to join their stellar team. The other employees are equally charming and welcoming. Overall? A+. Every single time.
Love this place. Perfectly balanced flavors with unique food pairings. Pleasure for your palate.
Still some of the best, most deft & gracious service in Portland along with a killer smart wine list.
The Davenport team never disappoints, and you can expect a great experience. Everybody there is knowledgeable about their food and about their incredible wine selection. I encourage you to lean on them for advice.
