Confusing place since it's technically Ladda Thai House, but they have a neon sign for Dee Dee Thai and the vegan menu is in the back of the meat menu... Cool space with covered, outdoor seating. Food is priced reasonably and service was fast. Ordered the Fresh Wrapped from the appetizers and the Pad See Ew along with a Thai iced tea with coconut milk. The wraps were good as was the drink. The pad see ew was slightly bland, but I also ordered it with low spice, so probably did it to myself. There are other Thai spots in town I'd probably visit over this spot in the future.

the textures are spot on, but they go far too light on the heat and seasoning. I've never had noodles so mild! not sure how to make marinated curry tofu that's bland, but they've mastered it here. order extra sauces. if you have your own chili crisp or sambal at home, you'll need it.

Best thai food I've had in Portland. The vegetables are fresh and the food tastes exceptional. This review is only for take out.

Got multiple dishes here. Overall, loved the food. Lots of little flair on dishes that made it visually appealing. I liked the wild rice topper to the white rice and the curry was excellent. Also, loved the soy curl option.

This place is so bomb! Top of my list for favorite vegan Thai spots in Portland. And fyi - the tom kha is THE BEST one you’ll find in Portland. Hands down.

Vegans/vegetarians should be aware that Dee Dee is not a standalone vegan restaurant, it is located within Ladda Thai that serves meat. I was given chicken pot stickers in my Dee Dee Thai order tonight and got home and started eating them before questioning the protein. When I called the restaurant, after some confusion, the staff was apologetic and offered to make me a new order or refund the incorrect item.

It's awesome that you have a separate vegan menu, but please please be careful not to mix up vegan orders with your meat dishes. I saw another review with the same complaint. If you choose to order from here, I recommend checking your food closely before leaving the restaurant.

My husband and I wanted a late night eat. We were not expecting much, they absolutely blew me away with how much flavor and how perfectly the tofu was fried and the noodles 🍜 this has to be one of the best drunken noodles I’ve ever had. I can’t speak anymore highly of this place. My husband picked it up and he was raving on how sweet and nice everyone was.

Review: Dee Dee Vegan Thai – A Love Crime Worth Committing

Recently, I made the switch to a temporary vegan diet strictly to lose weight, and let me tell you—finding a satisfying plant-based meal hasn’t been easy. But Dee Dee Vegan Thai? This place changed the game.

I ordered the curry (XXXTRA hot) with fried tofu, rice, and rice pudding, and it was everything. The curry had a rich coconut undertone, smooth yet fiery, the kind of heat that lingers just right. The fried tofu had a perfect crisp, absorbing the sauce like it was made for it. Pouring it all over the rice? Divine.

Then came the rice pudding—simple, classic, nostalgic. It tasted like pure comfort, the kind that takes you back to childhood innocence.

This restaurant isn’t just serving food—it’s committing a love crime, one plate at a time. Highly recommend.
