How are we so lucky to have Ditto!? Literally never ever disappointed, always so fulfilled and satisfied and thankful. So much seating! The best staff in town! Quality! The hash browns! All gold.
Amazing breakfast food cart run by lovely local chefs. Great sandwiches with vegetarian options too. Best fresh pressed orange juice in the city!
Being local and a frequent customer I was a little surprised to find that hash browns were no longer included with your sandwich? Also the owner can be a little short when she’s in a bad mood. Sorry but it’s true. Still giving 4 stars for decent vegan food. Tbh though wish they had more of a Charlie’s Breakfast Cart vibe and I’d come more often.
OH MY GOSH!!! This is probably the best grilled sandwich I have ever had!!! I’m just visiting the Portland area and searched for vegan restaurants on Google maps. Ditto came up and I opted to check it out. It’s in a very hipster neighborhood with beautiful homes and gardens. Narrow street parking…but I was on the same block. There’s a cool tiny house air B and B next door. But back to the food…at the time I was there, they were low on supplies and not many options…but I ordered The Widow. Perfectly grilled bread with cheddar cheese, avocado, grilled jalapeño, red onion, cilantro, tempeh. All vegan!!! YUMMY!!! I’m just traveling through…but told them I’m moving there…right there to their picnic table so I can eat their food every day. They just laughed.Such a great place…I definitely recommend it!!! I’ll be dreaming about that sandwich for the next few months for sure. :)
One of my favorite spots in Portland! Amazing sandwiches whether you’re vegan or not!
Wonderful vegan brekky sandwiches! We got the Bea and the Early Burger. The tempeh bacon had a great umami flavor that went SO well with the blackberry habanero sauce. Tasted like beyond breakfast sausage on the early burger, it was good whatever it was, and the balsamic with the arugula was nice. There was a special seasoning on the hashbrown that was unique and very tasty. I want to say it was nutmeg and cinnamon, which I wouldn't have guessed I'd like on a hashbrown with breakfast but it was fantastic. Also first time trying a topo Chico and the lime one was perfect.
The hashbrowns are THE BEST! Like, they're the reason you should go here! Super crispy on the outside, and perfectly seasoned. The Early Burger was pretty good, I'd say 4/5.
I’ve made thousands of vegan grilled cheese but not a single one comes close to the perfection that Betsy and the crew grill up! Pro tip, always get a hash brown!
Highly recommend this place, sandwiches are seriously amazing. Perfectly wrapped so the sauces remain in tactOmnis will walk away in disbelief, this is not your standard plant based spot ?
I spotted this place on my last PDX trip when I was leaving Bye and Bye and was so excited to learn that it was vegan! On our trip this weekend, I made it a point to stop by to try it out. I am blanking on the name of the sando I got, but it had a berry habanero jam on it. I enjoyed it. My partner got a rotating special and enjoyed the first few bites, but then it all kinda fell apart and kept slipping out. It was maybe too much food for the two buns it was between. He didn't enjoy the eggy patty as much as I did, he found it a bit flavorless. The person that took our order was friendly. Cute spot. If the bus ever opens up, I would be excited to dine in there.

Best vegan breakfast sandwich in PDX! The Bea was next level. Habanaro blackberry sauce, OMG, I was savoring every last drop. Special seasoned hashbrowns are amazing as well. I have tried one of there blacken soy curls sandwiches as well on another occasion- it was really good as well! Prob will go back for the breakfast sandwiches tho, just felt like it was a better value and so unique.
SO DELICIOUS! I'm not vegan, just trying to reduce the amount of meat I eat and places like Ditto make that so easy when they offer such delicious options! Thank you Ditto for offering such high quality, really freaking good food.
Absolutely delicious food whether you’re vegan or not. We had the Lilith and the Widow. Both were spicy, filled with flavor, and cooked to perfection. Quick tip, add the blackberry habanero sauce. It adds even more kick and a subtle sweetness that really ties it all together. And don’t even get me started on that tomato soup that I want to keep in a thermos and drink all day! Also, make sure to try the popsicles!
So delicious! I got the Lilith, it was warm, just the right amount of spicy, and perfect for a drizzly day! Fast service too. 5 stars in my book!!
The Lilith (pictured) is absolutely fantastic! I think it set a new record for the fastest that I have inhaled a sandwich, and I used to work retail! I am genuinely in shock that a completely plant-based blackened vegan chicken sandwich can be so good! The blackened chicky soy curls are extremely similar to blackened chicken in texture and flavor, the Vtopian bacon scallion cream cheese was great, the brassica microgreens were pretty and added a bit of texture, and the hot pepper cheese, avocado lime crema, crispy fried onions, and toasted pub bun all worked wonderfully, together. Ten years ago, I would never have thought I would enjoy vegan food, this much, but this is pure brilliance!I also had The Teddy (also pictured), which was also excellent. The three vegan cheeses combined to make a somewhat bougie grilled cheese, that does have a bit different flavor from the typical American cheese or just-cheddar grilled cheese, but I wouldn't say it was different in a bad way, and notably, the gooey, melty texture and the perfectly toasted white bread were spot on.On a subsequent visit, I tried The Mitch! (also pictured). It was also really good! The pesto was great, and the spiciness from the red onion and the blackened chicky soy curls was more pronounced (I think the Vtopian cream cheese softens the spice, on the Lilith), so if you like a bit of heat, this may be a good option, for you.The service was great! Fast, friendly, helpful, accommodating. This is a local, small business, that is women-owned, LGBTQIA+ friendly, and serves exclusively plant-based food. Cool!I am genuinely impressed, and I can't wait to continue to try other menu items, but honestly, it will still be difficult not to just get The Lilith, again. I am a fan. This gets added to the "take your omnivore friends here, to show them that vegan food tastes good" list.If you like my photographs, feel free to follow my tiny, little foodie Instagram: jonathan.grubb, for more (casual, and almost exclusively small / local) greater-Portland-area foodventures!
