Double Barrel Tavern is a Western-themed bar with a chill neighborhood vibe in Portland. It remains a great spot for a date without breaking the bank. The tavern offers a cocktail menu alongside cheap drinks and tasty bar food, including CHICKEN WINGS, Cesar salad with grilled chicken, and possibly the best onion rings. The food is well-prepared, with big tender and juicy chicken strips, perfectly fried curled wedge fries, and excellent house BBQ. The atmosphere is old school, featuring shuffleboard, a photo booth, and a cozy fireplace, with happy hour from 2-6 PM. There is a row of vintage pinball machines on the back wall and a cool library-like side room that feels a bit more upscale. There are booths for those seeking privacy and a dog-friendly patio for outdoor seating. The bartenders can be busy, leading to a mix of service experiences, but the staff is generally friendly and amazing. The tap selection is very good, and the Yonder cider is highly recommended. The bar offers a spacious ambiance with a HUGE TV and more TVs all over. The men's restroom has a reputation for being stinky. Double Barrel Tavern gives a gritty shot of Portland that many find hard to find these days, making it a unique spot to enjoy drinks and food late into the night.
