In my ongoing search for the best sweet and sour pork in Portland, I chose this place. They don’t serve sweet and sour pork, ? so I went with the General..Most people will find it passable, but it’s very soy heavy. I was not impressed enough for a return visit, but I am difficult to please.

Was one of my go to lunch spots when I worked down town. Their food is great but on this occasion our take out order was missing the key components for our mushu pork (no pancakes or plum sauce). Called the restaurant and offered to comp it next time which I appreciate. But would have preferred a compete order.

Eat at this restaurant! Fabulous food - many options on menu, crunchy vegetables, tasty chef sauces, generous portions. Clean venue. Excellent service! Great location: a block to the river for an after meal stroll!

Great Chinese food, downtown. Parking next door. The food is fresh and authentic. Very friendly staff as well. Prices are fair for downtown cuisine. The honey walnut shrimp is a must on every visit and the beef is mouth watering awesomeness!

I ordered to go. Got home and the food had bad/little flavor, extremely small portions, and they left off a whole side of fried rice. BTW shrimp means 1 shrimp. Literally 1 shrimp. It’s crazy it costs so much. Wrote this to warn others.

The fact that my partner and I were the sole occupants of this, large, conveniently located and attractive space over the course of our meal (5:30 - 7:00 pm on a Wednesday) was curious, given the excellent quality of the food and the friendly, attentive service. As first-time visitors to Portland, we initially wondered if we’d made a mistake to come here for dinner. But our doubts were quickly dispelled. For an appetizer we ordered Crab Puffs (delicious) and for main dishes my partner had Mongolian Beef and I had the Kung Pao Chicken. I don’t eat beef so can’t comment except that my partner enjoyed it. I loved the Kung Pao Chicken . . . especially the extra spicy nature of the dish. My partner thought that the Chef might be Thai (my partner is) but no — Mexican. Similar propensity for spice. Portions were generous. Hope Dragonwell Bistro can survive! We’ll definitely be back on our next visit to Portland.

Really kind service and pleasant atmosphere. Very quiet while we were in the restaurant but not a bad thing. Soup dumplings were 100000/10 !!!!

After navigating downtown Portland for the better part of an hour and coming up on some not so favorable establishment. We looked best Chinese restaurant and DragonBall Bistro came up as a choice.I'm here to tell you the food we ordered was outstanding!!! The cook got a major Thumbs up and Colton our host/server got two thumbs up for the attention to detail on what I was looking for in my meal.I was delighted with the outcome and the outstanding service and amazing meal would erase all memories of my wife and I struggles to find a good Chinese style restaurant in Downtown Portland. So if you are in town, don't want to drive anywhere outside the Downtown area, this is a 100% must stop for a meal place you should check out.You won't go wrong.

I booked this restaurant for a private party to host my father's memorial and I give them 5 out of 5 stars. I would give them 10 if I could! The hosts, Arvind, and his counterpart, Anil, made it such a wonderfully easy and stress-free experience. When I booked this venue through Peerspace I had no idea it was a Chinese food restaurant and it could not have been more serendipitous and perfect since Chinese food was my father's absolute favorite cuisine. When I was given the catering menu, the main dish was General Tso's chicken which was my father's favorite dish. It honestly felt like kismet. When planning the buffet I mentioned to Anil that I have celiac disease and cannot have any gluten so he made sure that at least two dishes were made completely gluten free so that I was able to have something to eat alongside my guests. It meant so much as I haven't been able to enjoy decent Chinese food in years! Anil was the one I worked with the most to plan the catering/buffet, but Arvind was the host on location at the time of the event. He was so incredibly helpful in getting everything set up, made sure we had everything we needed and that my guests were very well taken care of. As a big cherry on top, the food was DELICIOUS. We went over our time by an hour and a half and he was very gracious about it. He didn't even ask me to pay for the extra 90 minutes, but I made sure to do so. When the customer service is THAT good, you make sure they get what they are due. I would 1000% book another event at this venue. 10/10 highly recommend!!

The best Sesame Chicken I've ever had. It was so tender and delicious. Cozy atmosphere with a gorgeous fountain and beautiful orchids. Also, I see others saying they didn't receive rice with their meal. We most definitely received ample portions of rice.

We really liked Dragonwell in the past, but it has been a couple of years and I am wondering if it has undergone a change of ownership or management. The fact that the place was empty on a Saturday evening should have clued us in. We ordered spring rolls and pot stickers to start.. the fried spring rolls were obviously frozen and fried.. the texture outside was crispy and good, the inside was like like eating paste. The pot stickers that once were great have changed, this time they were not good at all. Not crispy but rather soggy and flavorless. Finally we split an order of sesame beef that was simply over seasoned with the strongest possible "sesame beef" syrup they could find.. it was an extremely thick sauce on bits chewy meat. There was no rice with it nor an offer for rice. I don't usually write reviews.. an especially not negative ones, but this was so bad that I feel obligated to warn folks.
