We had a great dinner here! The food was all delicious (especially the Quesabirria tacos) and a really good Spicy Margarita. Don’t skip this place!

Was nervous when I walked in and I was the only one there, but the food did not disappoint! This place is as authentic as you can get. Had the menudo and tamales de rajas and both were amazing, like my mother would make at home. Margarita definitely hit the spot. Happy to support Mexican family run businesses

Stumbled in here and left completely impressed! The tacos were out of this world — the lengua was melt-in-your-mouth tender and the al pastor had that perfect balance of smoky and sweet. Loved that the tortillas came out hot and fresh. Everything tasted like it was made with real care, and the atmosphere made it easy to just relax and enjoy. Definitely a new favorite downtown spot.

We came early morning, if your lucky Vanessa she will be your severe. Great customer service great smile and attentive to our needs.

We had enchilada plate with carne asada
(Spicy delicious) carme asada every bite full of flavor.

From a mexican point of view, this taste authentic to mexican food, from our mother land.

I could tell everything was freshly made
From guac and chips
To our carne asada.

Portion are full plate, they want you to leave full and satisfy.

Highly recommended 5 🌟 all across

It is so hard to find a sit down Mexican restaurant in Portland, Or with really good food that doesn't try to be weird.

I had an amazing margarita, chips and salsa, and taco salad with added steak. Everything was on point.

We were looking for a Mexican food place and we found it. And above all, the people who serve it and also prepare the food are Mexican. The latter is an important fact.

Excellent Mexican food. It wasn't too crowded when we went, and we were seated immediately. There are many Mexican options to choose from in Portland, but El Cantarito is a solid choice.
