Stopped at the food carts to grab breakfast with my fiancé. We sat in the commons area at a bench and JJ yelled at us about having outside coffee in front of other patrons. At first I thought he was joking, but he was not. He continued yelling at us after I tried explaining that we were waiting for food from another truck. We tried ignoring him, but he kept shouting at us so we left. Very unprofessional and ruined our morning. It’s disappointing to see this type of behavior from a small local business.

Was in the area and needed an afternoon pick-me-up, saw some great reviews for this place and decided to check it out. Firstly, the individual that served me was super kind, efficient, and seemed very passionate about what they do. Second, they asked if I wanted it “balanced or sweet”, which is GREAT bc sweet bevvies are not my style. I was then asked if the sweetness was to my level before they replaced the cap on my to-go cup. Lastly, this IS the best latte in Portland. So smooth, so balanced, such a joy to consume. Homemade Vanilla flavoring, too, they said. Great place! I’ll be coming back!

Amazing service, and friendly barista! Delicious Chai latte ( he mentioned that it’s homemade) also got a cafe latte all tasted amazing. Will definitely go back!

Best. Latte. Of. My. Life.No joke, this place is the real deal. For seven years my personal “best latte” award deservedly belonged to a little cafe in De Pijp, Amsterdam, but Espress officially (and delightfully) surpassed it today. ✌? I live about 30 minutes away but will now make concerted trips to pdx just for Espress. After my first sip, JJ (the owner) asked me how I liked my oat milk caramel latte, and while I can’t type exactly what I said to them ? it was akin to “freaking delicious”.JJ must have some magical hookup with the espresso gods or something.Love the many alternative milk choices, simple menu, real caramel, and choice of “balanced” or “sweet” flavoring levels. The espresso is marvelous — toasted to perfection with no bitterness or excess smoke. Added bonus of prices being super reasonable — no $10+ lattes here!Really appreciate the consistent days/hours Espress is open. If you go during open hours and see the window closed, just knock on the metal siding of the cart. ?Go. Now. You can thank me later.Parking: If you’d rather not park alongside Sandy Blvd., free street parking is plentiful to the north in the adjacent neighborhood.Kid-friendliness: Seating (picnic-table style) is available in the food cart pod and near Espress, particularly, to sit and eat/drink. Wide walkways offer families with kids enough breathing room to enjoy a meal or coffee together.Wheelchair accessibility: Entering the food cart pod from the sidewalk on Sandy Blvd., the area is flat with a wide paved entrance/exit and walkways — easily accessible to folks with disabilities /or using mobility aids.

Thought I'd try this spot as a "What the heck, why not?" And boy was I surprised. The homemade ice cream is incredible, especially in an affogato. The guys running the joint were super kind and friendly, seemed to genuinely care about your experience at the cart. Can't recommend them enough!

This was my first time coming here and not only is the coffee (blendy’s) amazing and super creative, but the service was out of this world. I have never experienced such amazing energy in a place. I cannot recommend this place enough; I will continue to come here when I come to Portland.
