Decent dim sum although the hargow was horrible the skin as very thick and overall not flavorful. Honestly get better with the Royal China frozen ones you get at Costco. Other dim sum items and the chow fun were pretty good. The jelly fish however was also lacking in flavor it tasted almost plain. Service was better and faster than expected

We celebrated our daughter's birthday dinner at Excellent Cuisine. There were six of us. We all had a different dish and shared. Although we read good reviews, we were all disappointed in the food and the service. The food was fair, not excellent. The portions were not large and each dish came out as if in courses, not together. Very bad timing. The service was fair, servers busy so not very attentive. Better food elsewhere.

The dim sum offerings and quality are similar to the previous restaurant in the space, Wong's King. I enjoyed everything, and the servers pushing the carts were friendly and spoke English.

Some dim sum are pre-made (heat up from the frozen)

I ordered a fresh crab for $62, but it turned out a very small size of the crab. I didn’t mention it right away because my friends started eating it as soon as it arrived. However, when I was paying the bill, I brought up the issue. The manager told me the price was set by the owner, but the crab was definitely not worth $62—it was way overpriced. On top of that, their attitude was really disappointing. They just kept saying the price was set by the owner.

I’ve been to Excellent Cuisine Chinese Food Restaurant a few times, and while the dim sum is decent, the service is absolutely unacceptable. Today (Saturday noon), I tried to place a takeout order at the front desk, and the cashier—a woman in a black suit with long hair—was shockingly rude and unprofessional. This isn’t even the first time she’s had an attitude problem when I tried to order.

She acted like she couldn’t be bothered, was dismissive, and made the whole experience frustrating. If this restaurant doesn’t care about how their staff treats customers, they don’t deserve my business. There are plenty of other great dim sum spots with better service—avoid this place unless you want to deal with rude staff!

Went in at 2 PM during a week day. The service was extremely slow. We had to get up from our table to get help. It was not even that busy. The wait staff was just standing around.

On top of that, when I went to go pay at the front counter, the hostess was very rude and had the forwardness to ask loudly why I didn't put a tip on the debit transaction. How would she know I wasn't going to leave a cash tip on the table? The staff is lucky I even gave a tip with the bare minimum service we received. Very rude behavior from the front counter hostess no matter what culture you're from.

The only reason this review isn't a 1 star is because the food was good. The dim sum was well prepared and tasty.

Parking: Parking is non existent during peak hours.

We had high hopes for this restaurant, particularly the dim sum. We arrived at 6pm on a Saturday and despite advertising all day dim sum, it was not on the menu nor available upon asking our server. We were told it was a “different menu”, which we were apparently not able to order from? We were really confused and had to order other dishes and they were sub par. The shrimp and broccoli just felt like oily shrimp and broccoli without flavor, and the crispy chicken in spicy garlic was teeny tiny itty bitty pieces of overly deep fried papery chicken on a platter full of mostly inedible chilies with absolutely no sauce, just dried out chicken on dried out chilies. And….it took forever to get our food. So overall very disappointing. Wish we understood how the dim sum menu works?

The best salt and pepper fish I’ve ever had! The garlic string beans were also phenomenal! Much like the other reviewers the service here is hit or miss, but I’m here for the deliciousness. I’ll suffer through longer service times if it means eating such delectable dishes.

Arrived a few minutes before they opened at 930am and the restaurant was filled up by 1030am
1030am is when Chinese broccoli 🥦 will come out
Wide variety of options for dim sum
7 adults managed to eat enough for $189
Plenty of parking in their lot
Good amount of seating inside
Friendly and efficient staff

There aren't many dim sum places in Portland, so it's pricey. Even though each dish is expensive, the dim sum itself is pretty good.

I also grabbed two takeout dishes on my way home, and they were both a huge letdown. I don't know if they got a new chef or lost their noodle supplier, but the beef chow fun noodles were gummy and flavorless. The Singapore noodles were also lacking curry flavor – I even asked for extra! Their dim sum is way better than their other dishes.

People people! Please hear me when I say that yeah the wait staff might not be falling over themselves trying to be as nice as possible like western style restaurants, but they are respectful and helpful, and you kind of have to just accept the different style of service and its ok.

The food is amazing. Sure, I bet if you were in Hong Kong or New York your egg tart or your dim sum might be slightly better, but man to be able to head out to 82nd on a Sunday morning for some authentic dim sum like this? That is an excellent thing.
