Paid Face Plant a visit after hearing many good things from friends. I’ll preface by saying I’m not vegan or vegetarian but was down to give the concept a try.
It’s in a bit of an odd part of town which I was surprised by but it’s a lovely little corner they have. We wound up going in to order vs doing a drive through but it looks as though they could accommodate a large amount of volume. The inside atmosphere is simple but clean with nice branding. Feels classic and timeless.
Food wise went with the standard combo meal with a strawberry shake and a small side of nuggies. The burger as someone who typically eats meat was definitely the closest vegan equivalent I have had. Even the cheese which I usually avoid was pretty solid. It was hearty and tasty. The fries were also good and the shake was a big time standout. Not sure what vegan equivalent they use but the shake was rich and thiccc. Couldn’t have told you it was vegan.
Service was solid and they brought the food to our table which was nice. I can imagine that with a large group or a busy time it could get backed up a bit, but we found it alright. There’s ample parking in the parking lot for guests looking to dine in.

Tonight I ate the best burger I've ever tasted! That's a huge statement for a committed carnivore who has eaten at In and Out dozens of times. I've eaten burgers all over the US and believe me when I say, the best deal I have found is a single red and yellow on grilled gluten free bread with a strawberry shake for like $6. Delicious! And the sweetest servers ever 💜💜💜 such a treat! 💯

I regret I couldn't come here a second time! This was my favorite vegan spot in Portland out of all the places I tried.
Burger had hella flavor and great texture. Fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It's the type of fry that doesn't need any dressing; it's good on its own.
Flying home in the morning, but I will be thinking about this place everyday until I come back.

We finally made the trip to Faceplant on Sunday after talking about it for the past couple months. I ordered the single red & yellow and my wife ordered the Fancy. We split an order of fries and a chocolate shake. The first bite of my burger was a time machine trip to my childhood, eating at McDonalds (I mean this in the best way possible). On first inspection, the burger seemed pretty small. I'm glad it was - we don't need monster proportions to be satisfied. My wife felt her burger was too much, but enjoyed it just as much as I did. There were a generous portion of fries, and the shake was pretty amazing. In fact, I thought it was much better than a real dairy-based shake and it was more than enough for two people to share. We left satisfied and without that fast food gut-sickness. Ok, I have been vegetarian/vegan for over 30 years. I probably don't truly remember the taste of an animal-based burger. If my memory is better than I think, this meal should be convincing for anyone still eating meat. We look forward to returning! (ah, very friendly staff as well - good job, all of you!).

Quite impressed with the flavors here. Fries are top notch for fast food fries. Pattie’s are piled with a lot of condiments which is my favorite type of burger. Shakes are thick and have lots of the berry flavor and doesn’t taste like synthetic flavor. Prices are good too. Doesn’t have the vegan upcharge a lot of other places add.
