Farmhouse Kitchen Thai Cuisine | Pearl District

I am a fan of Farmhouse Thai and have been to both Portland restaurants many times, often bringing guests from out of town. My experience on Sunday, Dec 7 was not typical: it was very disappointing. Our reservation for a party of two was at 12:30 pm. There were very few people in the restaurant at that time, but within about five minutes the host decided to turn on rock music at a quite loud level. I don't know whether his intention was to make the place seem more likely or to drive us out; in any case I asked him to turn it down, and he did. For a while ... Our table was on the south side of the restaurant facing large windows (we didn't choose the table) and when the sun came out, it shone directly in my eyes. When I asked whether there were blinds or curtains, the answer was no, with no offer of any remedy. This is not the fault of staff but management, We had sticky rice with Crouching Tiger wagyu beef. (We were originally brought pineapple fried rice, and had to point out that it was not our order...) The sticky rice must have been microwaved after being in the freezer overnight, because it was hard as a rock. The beef was good, but not great; and although we were obviously sharing, wait staff offered no utensils (e.g. large spoon?) for making that easier. In sum: the service was C-, the ambience was C-, the food only a B. Maybe all this is because there was no competent manage onsite for Sunday lunch.

We recently arrived in Portland after a long train ride and were craving rice. We stumbled upon a charming and authentic Thai restaurant. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive. The food was exceptional. I ordered the mechiline star slow-braised short ribs with purple jasmine rice and roasted broccoli. The combination was simply genius; each element harmonized perfectly, creating a delectable and satisfying meal.

I had a great experience at this Thai restaurant. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive from the moment I walked in. The service felt genuine, and they were happy to offer recommendations based on what I usually like.

The food was delicious — full of flavor, well-balanced, and clearly made with fresh ingredients. The dishes had the perfect level of spice, and everything came out hot and beautifully presented. Overall, it was a very satisfying meal, and I’d definitely come back again and recommend this place to anyone who enjoys good Thai food.

The food was good, service was excellent, the vibe and atmosphere was cozy. Though some food are just too spicy for me, there was also some confusion with my order on the dessert, but they immedietly changed it to what really wanted to order. Overall it was a great experience, and would recommend this place

I love farmhouse Thai, their volcano cup noodle is so good! Albeit a little spicy. Thai tea shaved ice is also quite the spectacle, worth going 10/10.
