Great service and nice staff. Unfortunately don’t offer unsweet milk tea, only half sweet and even then only some flavors can have their sweetness reduced. Bathroom was atrocious and filthy.

A charming, warm, and home feeling boba shop that's family run. I would 100% rather shop at these independent boba shops versus the boba chains just down the street. The first thing you notice upon walking in is the unique layout of the shop, a soothing little fountain in the front, slightly raised and bordered indoor seating, bamboo plants growing on almost every wall. The man and woman taking our order were kind and warm, and (if I'm correct) their son even asked if they needed help in the kitchen ?, good kid. The mill tea and boba was quite delicious and not a long wait at all, although I can't recall specifics I do remember seeing unique menu items for the milk tea that I hadn't seen before. They also serve lunch items if you're hungry, if I wasn't stuffed I would've eaten there without a doubt. I'll definitely be back to visit the Fat Straw and walk down the street while I sip their delicious milk tea!

This place is awesome! I’ve been here a few times and I was compelled to leave a review cuz I’ve never been disappointed and by looking at the recent reviews I’m glad I am! When did people become some petty? Sad! Anyways, the owners are really nice. They even were supporting Maui during the devastating fires last year! In my book, you can tell they care and they do! Service has always been excellent and the vibes in there are impecable! I’d say a little oasis on se Hawthorne!
Now to drinks and food! I’ve had the original milk tea boba and it was excellent! I’ve had there blended bobas too, that are perfect for the heat! I’ve had pineapple and lychee! Pick a flavor you like and you will not be disappointed! The pork bánh mi was really good too!
Be chill this summer and go get a tasty boba!

I also play chess once and a while with my lil brother. My family also owns a business here on Hawthorne so I LOVE supporting a small family business.
This is literally the only Bobba tea / Bhan Mi shop I come to!!! I love the staff, super friendly and always welcoming with grand smiles :D So happy they extended their hours till 10pm, makes these late night study dates much easier.
Their teas are always on point, also has a WIDE selection of flavors, jellies and popping bobbas that I don't seem to find anywhere else! Also, I never leave without a Chicken Bhan Mi / the #8. TOO GOOD!!!
Vegetarian options: There are great vegan / vegetarian options for Bhan Mi!!!
Wheelchair accessibility: There's a lower level, totally accessible.
