In town for work and found this gem near where I was staying. It’s in an old hotel so the atmosphere was very cool. I had a French dip and fries. It was yummy. The menu is all plant-based which is awesome to not have to worry about what you’re ordering. Come support them. Need more places like this in the world.
I just tried the seitan “steak-frites,” and it was decent but I couldn’t finish my portion as it was too oily and heavy on the pesto. The interior has a trendy vibe and is connected right to the hotel lobby.
We decided to finally check out Fortune - located in the Sentinel Hotel in downtown Portland. We both had an appetite because we had not eaten a lot all day. We got there about 4:45pm on a Friday night. There were a few tables with people eating but the place wasn't full. There is a board that tells you to order at the bar. So we went to the bar to order. We ordered the French Onion Soup, Rosemary and Parmesan Fries and the BBQ chicken wings. The bartender even made me an amazing mocktail. Still thinking about it today. We were given a number to display on the table - we decided to sit by the window, it was a beautiful night for the end of February. Shortly after we sat down our food came out - the presentation was really nice and we almost started eating before getting some photos! Everything was really tasty - my boyfriend said the fries were the best he's had in a really long time. The little wings have a sugarcane bone so they were fun to eat and the BBQ sauce was really seasoned well. I was super excited for the soup, it was really good but a little on the salty side. It came with little toasts so those helped cut the saltiness. Our food and drink total came to $48.00 before tip. It was a good night with good food. The atmosphere of the bar is really cozy and it's pretty big. There are a variety of places to sit - couches and a fireplace, also smaller tables with chairs and an area in the corner where 4 or 5 people can sit around a table in the corner.
Great atmosphere and comparable in price to non vegan restaurants. Drinks were on the strong side without being to much so. I had the Bordelaise Burger and flavor wise one of the best I had away from home.
Very cute bar located within a hotel lobby with a 100% vegan menu. Looks like they also have a DJ for the late hours. I really enjoyed the croquettes.
Had a bad experience here almost two years ago, completely forgot this place existed then randomly was booking a hotel and saw there was a vegan restaurant and was psyched. Immediately when I walked in I remembered my past experience but thought hey maybe they just had a bad night let’s give them another try. I wish I hadn’t, this is everything I hate about vegan restaurants, horrible horrible service and overpriced food. If you took a non vegan person here they would say this is exactly why I’m not vegan. It’s not that the food is bad, it’s just way overpriced and nothing special. These are the places that set veganism back imo. Isn’t the goal to make people not want to eat animal products? This isn’t the way.
Service was friendly and prompt. The cocktail we had (Oaxacan Garden) was spectacular. The food was disappointing. Very basic, over seasoned, undercooked, and just blah. With all the great vegan options in Portland, I won't be trying this again.

Bartenders have a lot of bar to cover, but do so attentively and with as much grace as warranted given that clientele (hotel proximity) can be distracted. Order at bar, don't forget to pick up your wait flag #!!
Nice selection of vegan menu options.
Drink combinations are fun and bartenders pleasantly willing to custom or suggest.
Atmosphere mostly aloof and felt safe.

Came on a Friday at 7, asked bartender to bring his favorite cocktail, and now it's my favorite too (Oaxacan Garden). Great time.
I only come for Jeret. He is the best.

The food was fine, but overpriced and uninventive. The place was empty and somehow the bartender still made us feel like an inconvenience. In a city with so many amazing vegan restaurants you can definitely find better.

Weekend nightlife: The SAFEST club without the tolerance of gang members like the China town clubs cater to. Good food, clean & well-maintained throughout, quick customer service despite the popularity. Long lines to get in but worth the wait and reasonable cover fee

I love the food and the bartenders. I don't drink alcohol, but the mocktails are delicious and the cocktails all sounded fun (my friend who drinks thoroughly enjoyed them). The space is large and manages to be both dark and bright due to the bold color choices. I never thought I'd say this, but try the bakon-wrapped dates!
Always a good spot. Atmosphere can vary wildly, from empty lounge to crowded hotel bar, Menu has changed over the years, for better and worse, but it's fun to drop by every so often and have solid food and drinks.
Went here for a date night before a show at the Newmark Theater and was not disappointed. We loved the vibes - perfect for a date night and the food was delicious. I got the French Dip and my hubby got the burger with fries. My sandwich was so big I could only eat half. We also had a couple of tasty cocktails. Definitely would venture here again!
