Established in 1947, this beautiful gem in downtown Portland is a full counter dining experience. It moved to it's current location in 1960, but still maintains that 1940s feel. Breakfast and lunch are served, complete with bottomless cups of joe. This is a locals favorite. The food is tasty, customer service and atmosphere is amazing. So, if you want a taste of old school with good people, food and atmosphere, stop in, grab a stool and enjoy! Bon Appe'tit!
Truly a quintessential 1940s all counter service diner. I wasn't sure if I should give it five stars or four stars but the 4.5 rating seems correct. Very clean and friendly place with competent everything and fairly low prices. You can get out of here for under $20 with a main, a side order, a drink, and tip. Safe place to get eggs, bacon, hash browns, french fries, boring old school sandwiches, huevos rancheros, and omelettes. Don't expect to be whisked back to a bygone...
Room for improvement. Very cool, retro diner with bright lights and snake bar. This place could be a spectacular part of the neighborhood with a little more love for the food. I love fast & cheap greasy spoons, but meet the expectations. Be cheap. If you're going to give me straight from the bag white toast, a smaller than usual portion of potatoes, and a mid omelette, then be cheap!
