I took someone on a date here last night and the food, service and space was perfect. The folks working there are top notch and took care of us even though we realized we running late for an event and had to leave earlier than we wanted. Thank you to the staff and the kitchen!

Easily the greatest meal we’ve eaten in Portland. Would recommend to everyone. The flavors were incredibly unique, each dish had something new and unexpected. First experience with Indonesian food and i’m floored. Our server, Ethan, (and the rest of the staff here), were so kind, guided us in all of the right directions with food, and made the night unbelievably memorable. TLDR: go! go! go!

It’s time to talk about the GOAT - Gado Gado.
This is an Indonesian inspired spot which is a new one for me!
Short and sweet - I thought everything we had was amazing. The flavors are quite bold, spicy and filled with umami.
My wife and I each got their version of a tasting platter They start by giving you a collection of spicy sauces and pickles to pair with all of the dishes. These sauces range in spices from a 4/10 - 7/10 in my opinion, but I don’t have the biggest spice tolerance.
They started with smaller single bites and moved to more shareable entrees - all presented in family style. Combining all the sauces with these were heavenly.
All were great, but my favorite was probably the chicken skewer, the soup, and the short rib.
Drinks were also great - get 1 or 2.
I will go out of my way to come back here. 5/5.

Excellent Valentine's Day experience with the rice table. Every side dish could stand on its own, each is so unique and flavorful. Truly an experience for all your senses. Can't wait to come back and try other dishes not part of the rice table.

Despite a very busy V-day, the omnivore tasting menu was solid from the one-bite panipuri (which was an explosion of flavor) to the blistered tomato curry (simple but yummy with thr roti) and the sumatran style beef rendang with toasted coconut and candied anvhovies - we were so full and satisfied. Service was spot on and friendly (except for the one male staff - didn't seem like he even wanted to be there). Will be back.
Had an amazing dinner there this weekend. We did the rice table option and the selection was great, with plenty of food for both of us. The cocktails were inventive and fun, the staff was friendly. We'll definitely make a trip back into the city for this one!

Went for my wife's birthday. They moved us from outside to inside at the perfect spot. Every staff member that came to our table wished my wife happy birthday and put a candle on the desert. My wife was in the bathroom when they first came out with the dessert and they took it back and waited for her to come back to bring it out. Everything was perfect and the food was out of this world it was so delicious.

Outstanding meal! We were a table of 4 and did the “Rice Table”. Kaley was an outstanding server. Look forward to returning.
Had the best birthday and meal of my life here. Please if you have to visit one spot in PDX make it this. All of the dishes are so different and intriguing taste texture wise. But they all go together beautifully. It quite literally feels like the moment in ratatouille when all the colors are on the screen and it just looks fantastical.
And they gave us non-alcohol like champagne for my birthday. Which I adore I feel like more places should do this!! Sometimes the song and dance is too much. But the clink of glasses amongst loved ones is perfect!

Finally decided to check this place out for my birthday dinner and I’m so glad I did! I am still dreaming about this meal a few days later. We ordered all the vegan items on the menu and I could not find a fault in any of them. Everything was so flavorful, balanced, and absolutely delicious. I can’t say enough good things about my experience at Gado Gado and I’m excited to come back soon.
