If I could give zero stars I would!I recently dined at Gandhi in Portland and was thoroughly disappointed with my experience. The hygiene standards were notably poor, as evidenced by hair found in several dishes which seemed poorly washed. This was off-putting and raised concerns about the overall cleanliness of the kitchen.Additionally, the restaurant was severely understaffed, which led to long wait times and a lack of attentive service throughout our meal. The high prices charged were unjustifiable, considering the mediocre quality and small portions of the food served. Unfortunately, Gandhi did not meet expectations on any front, making it difficult to recommend.

Does not say clearly anywhere if they still have a buffet or not so I tried to call and apparently they are so on top of things that their number doesn't even work anymore. Even if I was trying to order food I couldn't call in because their Verizon number has been disconnected as it says over and over again so I cannot risk going down there just to be told that they do not have a lunch buffet anymore and then charged $20 for the cheapest food money can buy. I have literally been trying to find a decent Indian buffet for the last 45 minutes and it is now pretty much too late to even go to a place so I give up. None of these places are on top of anything. I am going to go to the corner store to get my lunch now. Thank you

Perfect lunch spot. I got chicken vindaloo and okra and it was perfect and generous with tender, large chunks of chicken.I almost don't want to leave this review because it's so quiet during lunch, but people should know!

I am so glad that Ghandi's has re-opened. Great food, lots of options, large portions, and really affordable. I have been coming here for over 5 years and am excited that the owner's son is keeping the tradition going.

This is a very terrific place. It felt like food is given to a homeless for money. No service and the taste was aweful. Please do think of going here before in hand. I would never recommend this place even to my enemy. Please make sure that there is atleast one person in the front who can attend you personally.

Recommend calling before going. Unexpectedly closed tonight - no signage, no updated hours on the door, just lights out at 630 on a Saturday evening. I was really looking forward to trying this place out. Unsure if this was a one-off deal or a frequent occurrence.

It was good. There are not choices though the way that you are used to, it's like a buffet that someone else makes for you. There is no menu to sit and order from, sadly. The chicken and the spinach that I had were okay, but like 5/10. The Chai and Naan are free, and are of the quality that you expect from free things.

Lovely place run by this kind lady who made us feel at home with her amazing food and warmth. If you are looking for authentic Indian food in Portland, this restaurant is a must-visit. The old Indian relics add to the rustic desi charm. I'll definitely come back any time I'm in Portland or Vancouver.Vegetarian options: After 3 days of picking and choosing Indian vegetarian options (a rarety), 3 of us were so relieved on finding this place. We had a delicious course of tawa roti, rice, aloo-gobhi ki sabzi and daal fry.

We just ate after the reopening and the food tasted incredible! The samosas were flakey, the naan was fluffy, and the korma was delicious. The owner is also really friendly and cares deeply about his restaurant. I will definitely eat here again!
