Popped in on my way up in a long drive to seattle from LA, exhausted, hungry, decided to purchase their focaccia which is delicious but asked if they could heat it up and they said they can’t because it’s “outside food” even thought I purchased it- something they themselves made and packaged in their store? Seems insanely anxious and paranoid (typical PNW behavior) and makes no sense. They could have offered to like slice me some back there and heat it up for me. Offered nothing. I’m also a WOC, im sure I would have been taken care of if I were one of their own. Focaccia though, even not heated up is moist and delicious, would have been better heated up. Cannot support a small business that doesn’t at least *try* to accommodate or be helpful for a customer. Thumbs down.

The only reason not 5 star is the prices have gotten out of control, $10.50 for a slice of cake is a bit much.

We ordered the most delicious gluten free cake for my sister and niece (both have Celiac disease.) We ordered a custom chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and vanilla buttercream frosting. SO NICE to not have to worry about any cross contamination - the cake was a huge win for our party! My sister and niece can't wait to try more gluten free items from Gem!

I had a Latte and cinnamon roll. Delicious! Comfortable atmosphere and reasonably priced. It will be my go to breakfast place whenever I visit Portland.

The pastries and cakes are incredibly delicious. I have ordered two cakes, one for a baby shower and one for a birthday, both have looked stunning and tasted delicious. Their quiches, especially the vegan quiche, are fantastic. I cannot compliment this bakery enough!

I’m used to gluten free cake and this was not it. 75 dollars for the cake to be a literal brick with butter slapped on the side. Lemon filling was good

Everything’s gluten free and several vegan options. Everyone was super friendly. Pastries were good. Really good coffee too.

It’s literally a dream come true. There’s a gluten free bakery back from where I’m from on the east coast that is far from inviting but this place is an absolute gem, hence the name. Everyone is so helpful, there’s so many options but I settled on the cinnamon roll because why not?!?! Donuts are to die for as well.

Highly recommend going here if you ever make it to Portlandia.

The treats are amazing. I'm gluten free not really by choice but in order to not be in constant pain. It felt really nice to be able to look at all of the treats and not get bummed out because one of them had gluten in it. I had the cheese cake and brownies and they were absolutely delicious.
