My husband and I went to Grana for an impromptu date night and overall had a good experience. We started with the chicory Caesar and the dressing was extremely tasty and very light (in a good way) compared to most Caesars. The pizza was delicious, we got the blanco and the margherita. We both liked the blanco best but agreed the margherita was necessary too to add a fresh balance. The crust was absolutely delicious and the ingredients were very high quality and fresh. We also loved cutting the pizza with the shears, so fun! I'd recommend they look at expanding their wines by the glass menu a little bit, given the prices and high quality of the other food it would have been nice to have an option other than "house red" or "house white." My only real bit of constructive criticism is about the service. There were two servers, the guy was super nice but the girl wasn't overly friendly and hovered at our table after we got a box, waiting for us to leave so she could bus it. We were also seated at table 12 which is literally behind the host stand, I would highly recommend not seating people at that table unless you have a packed house because not only was it cramped, it was really awkward having to be eye level with the host's butt during the meal. There were a ton of empty tables throughout the restaurant so I regret not asking to be seated elsewhere, but I didn't want to seem high maintenance.

We had a 5:30 reservation for 4 and were psyched to try everything. I wasn’t greeted at the door. And then was disappointed that it was an order by QR code situation. But I rolled with it. Ordered a glass of wine and an appetizer. More glasses of wine, a salad, a pizza. As our second and third pizza was delivered the waiter said “we need this table so we’re going to need you to finish up as soon as soon as possible.” Our table was gobsmacked. It was 7 on the dot and no one had told us we only had 1.5 hours to order, eat and leave. Had we had a waiter they could have let us know we only had the table reserved for a short period of time! There was already 4 people waiting for our table, staring at us. We had two full pizzas and full glasses of wine to….hurry through?! Had we not been rushed through, we had plans to order a pizza to go, more wine and multiple desserts! There was no apology. No communication at all until “please leave”. Just clearing plates in front of us as we tried to shove the pizza in our faces and wine down our gullets. If you want to have a limited time on a table, you should have communication and a waiter to pace a meal properly so the diners get their food with plenty of time to enjoy their time/meal. You can’t have a time limit and a QR code. Maybe this works for lunch but not a good dinner experience. We were all so shocked and will be spreading our experience as I wouldn’t want anyone else to spend all that money and then leave as disappointed as we were.In response to the restaurant’s reply below. No attempt (nor multiple attempts) was made by the waitstaff to assist and we ordered wine, an appetizer and a salad within the first 20 minutes (we checked our receipts for times). The restaurant’s review/context is incorrect.

Leaving a review to combat the flood of one-star fake reviews, probably from competitors, who knows.Real deal: Grana is popular and with good reason. The crust is exceptional, the quality of ingredients is very high, and the pies come out with excellent consistency. The QR code ordering only bothers luddites. It helps speed up the dining process.Reservations are highly recommended. Resy will get you at the "chefs table" aka bar where you can watch the work being done. Awesome to see. The citrus salad with arugula and fennel is 10/10. The Margherita pie is unstoppable. I've never had a specialty pie that was lacking.Grana is newer, and I believe it will grow into its space on the decor side, which is a bit bare. But you come here for the coziness and the very high quality, straightforward menu. It's been a repeat date night locale for my partner and I, who travel past many competitors to come there.

For lunch we had a Caesar salad, a 10" margherita and a Bianca folded pizza. The freshly baked dough was chewy, elastic and very tasty. The staff was very nice and we had a wonderful lunch time. They just opened about 4 months ago, so I'm sure they will become one of the most popular pizza places in Portland.?✨

Cute lil restaurant that is bright in the day and romantically lit for dinner. The folded pizzas are ONLY available at lunch, and they are where it's at. Incredible.

My friend and I went here for dinner last night. Personally I'm not a fan of your traditional American style pizza (too bready and too much cheese) so I was really excited to try GRANA as my friend says it's the most authentic Neapolitan style pizza in Portland. Let me say I was not disappointed! The pizza I had - traditional Margherita - was nice and thin crust, more tomato sauce than cheese, fresh mozzarella and basil. The salads we had were excellent, as was the tiramisu. Service was also great, as was the ambiance. Absolutely coming back!

Ok wow, the portafoglios? More like portaforget about going anywhere else for lunch! I've now tried all three of their portafoglios, or "hand pizzas". These are essentially personal Neapolitan pizzas, wood fired in the oven and folded into a little triangle shape which is perfect for snacking on the go. The folded shape consolidates the cheese/sauce/toppings into bites that are more satisfying than a normal pizza; maybe New Yorkers are on to something with their folded slices? Even better, due to how it's folded, what would normally be the crust of the pizza is now the top, which here is topped with a creamy pesto sauce and shredded cheese. This is so great for me because as a crust-hater this makes the crust infinitely more enjoyable. Now that I've tried all three types (the "standard" Margherita, the meaty/spicy Diavola, and the "white pizza" Bianca) I was expecting to come here and provide the definitive rankings... alas they were all so good I can't pick a favorite! Oh well, guess I'll have to circle back for another tour through Napoli. Shucks :)
