The sesame seed baguette is bread at is finest. BLT season is fabulous, but the sandwiches are pretty decent year around. I'm not a big coffee drinker, so I can't really comment on that, but as far as a normal, unpretentious bakery goes... It works.
Out of the different Grand Central bakeries I've been to, this location is one of the friendliest and most efficient, a somewhat tricky combination in many businesses, but they do a good job here of having many options available, (even if it is past 10am) not rushing the customer, friendly attitude (becoming more rare, sadly) and still getting your order out in a timely manner. And the food is delicious too! That's why you go to Grand Central.
I do love me some Grand Central sandwiches and to pick up a loaf and a latte but today was the kick off of their BLT! Don’t walk….RUN! These BLT’s are the best I’ve ever had (side from my homemade, maybe)! Amazing crispy bacon, buttery crispy como bread, only the best…Best Foods mayo, fresh lettuce and the star of the show…JUICY salt and peppered heirloom tomatoes, super thick cut so they are nearly the star of the show! Damn they sourced the perfect BLT tomato! Damn...
