Good soups, sandwiches, sourdough and cuomo bread. Only problem are people who hog the tables reading after eating. Treating it like a Starbucks.

Always friendly and helpful. Good food.
We always get their sourdough bread and they slice it too. Cookies and coffee cake, and they make a great mocha with real whip cream. Portland has an overabundance of coffee shops but only a few of them can make a good mocha.
Isaac helped us today and was friendly and courteous. They had great tips and suggestions about the food and life in general

This place would be 5 stars but they ruin it with rave disco music at all hours, including first thing in the morning--all hours.
Much like the GC Bakery in Multnomah Village. Friendly and helpful staff. Food is made quickly and all the baked goods are delicious. Would come back to this location.

Perhaps the best bread I've had in Portland. I recommend a loaf of the sourdough or the aged Italian rustic. Just sensational.

Every time I go there, the staff are super friendly and welcoming. The bread might be the best in town. Don't sleep on this gem!

Not simply because a kindness was extended to me,
much appreciated, the customers ahead of me also had positive interaction with the staff. Definitely recommend for friendly vibe & hearty bread.
I bake but often I'm short on time...eyeing their frozen dough section!!

Great bread. But the sandwiches I’m sorry it must be said are STINGY. Scoop another helping of chicken salad on there. Stack the ham high. More pickles. If the sandwiches are ever improved I will upgrade my rating.

I had a uniquely poor experience for a place I love to frequent. Ordered a sandwich to go, and was told it could be a 25 min wait. No problem, and was running errands so was told I didn’t need to take a beeper. Friendly folks upfront. Note to self - Always get a beeper.
After returning and asking if the sandwich was ready, was chastised by management for not getting a beeper (I told them that wasn’t my call and their staff approved it), then after some back and forth, let me know they’d call my name when it was ready (much appreciated, thank you, no problem).
50 minutes later, I walk back up to the counter to ask about the status, to find heartbreakingly my sandwich had been sitting there for at least 20 minutes (came out with Martha’s to go order, heard her name 3X, never once a shout out for mine).
Really Hard to imagine this wasn’t done on purpose for the annoyance about the beeper earlier (management was the one running orders). Just a really really deflating experience on a place I normally so enjoy.
