Its one of those places you'll be excited to take your friends for the first time. Tucked away, amazing vibes, and excellent cocktails that present well

Evyn gave us a great experience and some great cocktails. The tofu fries were tasty and hit the spot. We tried all but one cocktail and my favorite was their take on an old fashion. It was very unique and very good!

Very medicore drinks not well made or formulated well and way too overpriced. Not really a speakeasy in the sense more of a basement cocktail bar with terrible cocktails.

My buddy took me to this place for the first time. What a cool spot and the food and drinks were so good. Definitely taking my wife back here and making this place one of our fav spots for drinks and conversation.

I’m really reluctant to share this. What a great little places this is. A little joint bar. All we need is some jazz and we’re golden.

I've only been here about 4 times (not in NW area often) but it is hands down one of my favorite bars in Portland proper. Every staff member I've encountered has been friendly and helpful with recs. If it's not too busy they'll also tell us process if making some of their unique flavors. As busy as it gets I have never felt rushed out. The bar snacks are from upstairs and pairs great with the Vietnamese theme of the cocktails (spring rolls and salad rolls are great). It's a small space so I'd say it's better for groups of 2-3. I've never made reservations but have gotten very lucky the times I've been, where the hostess squeezed an extra chair at bar and politely asked if a couple next to us would move one seat down that was open.
If you live in Portland, this bar should be on your radar

The perfect cocktail bar for a date night! A friend introduced to the place and I was blown away. It reminds me of a NYC cocktail bar. A small intimate setting, candle light and fancy cocktails. I don’t know any other place in Portland with a similar vibe. Highly recommend it.

Very cool little spot! Interesting drinks and friendly bartenders. Intimate, and yes, small - so while we did have to wait for a seat, it was totally worthwhile.
Super cute and cozy little bar. Set up as described and very sweet and conscientious staff. Great cocktail options and a nice assortment of beers. It’s definitely a spot for a fun new experience on NW 23rd.

The true stars at Grandma's Secret are undoubtedly the bartender and server. Their exceptional service, expertise, and genuine warmth created the best bar experience I've had. While the drinks were impressively crafted and delicious, it was the staff who elevated everything to another level. Their attention to detail and friendly demeanor made us feel valued and welcomed. This hidden gem offers not just great cocktails, but truly memorable hospitality that has us planning our return visit already.
