We had breakfast at Gravy on Monday, 4/29/24, because we remembered it fondly from 2021-22. It was a disappointing experience, to say the least. The coffee ($4 per cup) tasted like the dregs you get when it sits too long on the heat in a dirty carafe. I mentioned this to the server when he came with our food, and he totally ignored it. No offer to make a fresh pot or bring a different beverage, no gesture of taking it off the bill. He clearly could care less. Our eggs, ordered "over medium" were barely over-easy. My friend gagged hers down, but i couldn't. The server did not check in with us so I walked my eggs to the kitchen to ask for them to be cooked more. The server argued that they were cooked right, but took the plate and said they'd redo them. When he brought them, the whites were solid but they were burned on both sides. We asked to share an order of French toast, and the server brought it all on one plate. Then he disappeared, so we asked another staffer for an extra plate, which never materialized. Our server finally walked by and we asked him for the plate, but it was weird he didn't bring it with the food. My friend left a 20% tip in spite of the poor service, but we agreed we won't return.

Food and service was excellent. Plan to share, more than we could eat individually.

This is the second time I have been to this restaurant, and I was not as impressed as the 1st time. The chicken fried steak has changed from the 1st time. It is no longer an actual steak! It was chewy, and the hashbrowns tasted like oil. I had to trade with my son and eat his pancakes(which were very good!). The atmosphere is great but our server was terrible. I had to ask 3 rimes for water and syrup and only git them after he got mad that I got up to ask someone else. We will try it one more time because ai want to try the French toast that looks amazing!!!

Loved it! Everything was so delicious - the portions were huge and the prices are very reasonable. Loved my Monte Cristo platter, and the shredded hash browns were fabulous. My friend let me sample her biscuits and gravy - sooo good! Our server was really great and attentive too! Be prepared to wait to get seated - it's a popular spot, so I recommend getting there early .

Love this place! They have a great selection on the menu. Their biscuits & gravy are absolutely delicious. The biscuits are cooked perfectly, & their food portions there are pretty big. Lots of leftovers. I got there pretty early in the morning, so there wasn’t any wait for a table. The bloody Mary’s are so good. The service was great as well. Definitely give this place a try! So yummy.

This is the BEST biscuit and gravy spot in portland and that should mean something. The portions are very appetite friendly meaning, you’ll get plenty for your dollar. I go out of my way for the biscuits and gravy. The bacon is thick and the pancakes are big and fluffy.I’d order this again and I have quite a few time and have driven from Beaverton to this joint just for the biscuits and gravy.

I was really excited to try this place because I love biscuits and gravy. You would think it would be good because of the name. It was not in my opinion. The biscuits were gross and weird texture. Same with the gravy it had a weird flavor almost like there was cheese in it or something. I'm not sure I just wasn't a fan. My biscuits and gravy from home is better. My friend had the French toast eggs and country potatoes. She said the only good thing was the French toast there was no seasoning on the food. The service was just blah. Like the waiter just wasn't engaging or friendly. The dude didn't even smile once. Listen I always make sure I am going to tip people because it's important. I don't care if the food is bad if you're a good waiter I am going to tip you well. I could not in good conscience tip this guy more than $2 which he didn't even deserve but I just couldn't not tip someone in the service industry. The environment was overwhelmingly small and crowded it felt chaotic. This probably won't bother everyone. The reason I am posting this is because when I was researching this place a review like this would have helped me save my money.

This good is so good and the atmosphere is super chill. I left my leftovers on my table and I considered calling and driving bank there after I was quite a ways away. The food is THAT
