I was told that the employees here were rude but I went anyway and yes the customer service offered here was subpar. There were many employees just standing around and talking. The little help I did get came with a bad attitude and childish behavior.
I definitely want to come back and try the sandwiches or any of the savory options here to give it a truly fair rating. But, having said that, I did try the wild blueberry whole grain muffin and the marionberry scone and sadly I wasn't super impressed. It of course is all made with whole grains so expect the texture to be a lot less fluffy and more spongy (?). The muffin was alright, not my favorite ever but definitely better than the scone. I liked that it was ungodly sweet and would be perfect for breakfast if you're not into very sweet things. The blueberries were fresh and scattered throughout. I wanted to enjoy the scone especially bc I love marionberries but this was just not it. It was a weird texture for a scone, very spongy and almost too wet - dense but definitely not typical of a traditional scone. It also wasn't sweet, but in the scone, this was much more of a letdown than the muffin was. Neither were too great, but maybe a healthy option for those seeking more whole grains in their diet. I wasn't, so it just wouldn't have been my first pick. I will definitely go back to try the sandwiches though since those seem to be good!
Thought it was going to be just another quick hummus sandwich, but it was surprisingly delicious! Wish I had ordered a full one. Super nice and patient staff ✨️

I placed a special bread order for several Oregon herb loaves since we don't have a GH in Seattle that will do this. I was coming down to visit a friend and was able to get my favorite to take with me back home and I'll freeze/thaw and enjoy it until my next trip down. Everyone is awesome at the location and super helpful and accommodatingn for special orders.

Love Great Harvest! Dakota bread is my absolute favorite and I can't help but grab a cinnamon or a pastry while I'm in. Today we had French toast made with the cinnamon swirl bread. Oh my goodness, highly recommend! ?

Best bacon egg and cheese I’ve ever had. Now this is coming from a New Yorker who understands a good bacon egg and cheese. The place is real home town America looking, which I like. Wholesome. Breakfast sandwiches are served until 10:30 am. You step up to the register and order your meat, cheese, bread selection, and spread option. Even a veggie if you want that. What came was not just visually appealing, with the thickness of the eggs and symmetry looking like a work of art. The taste was beyond what I thought it could be. I’m here, 2 more days. I know what I’ll be eating until I leave.

The best home made treats, daily soup and sandwich specials. The owner is the best and I’m so glad Great Harvest has continued to thrive through Covid and all that downtown Portland has been through. The staff is always super friendly. The ham and cheese biscuit is my go to, but every now and then I stray and get a cinnamon roll, cheesy stick, or scone and I’m never disappointed. Loaves of bread are delicious too!!
