Beware doing business with this company, particularly for a monthly subscription. When you sign up, there is no way to cancel the subscription online (although you can certainly sign up online and give them your billing info really easily) and reaching out by email, phone or in person is an excercise in futility. The tend to respond to emails a week or so later, if they respond at all, and no one at the physical locations can help and just hand you a card with a phone number and email on it. I was billed for more than a year of subscription boxes that were never picked up and they are refusing to either provide me with the beer (the original boxes have already been sold or not available) or a credit for the amount towards other beer. They are just trying to tell me I am SOL Seems like they don't understand consumer laws around actually delivering a product that they have sold. Unfortunately I will be escalating this to a filing with the better business bureau and or small claims court. Super silly, i would be happy with just getting the beer i paid for which seems like a really simple ask. Too bad, they have great beer, but there is a lot of great beer in this town that you can buy to support folks with better ethics and customer service.

Cool spot with solid beers. The sours were especially good! There's a BBQ Taco place inside as well which smelled great but we didn't sample it.
Great time here yesterday trying their seasonal spooky beers and enjoying Matt's BBQ Tacos breakfast tacos were so good! Already making a plan to come back.

Great Notion was a bucket list brewery visit for me and man, did it live up to the hype!!
Their beers are SO good and since they have such limited distribution to Massachusetts where I live, I will admit to have paid $9 for 1 can of it!
So what a dream it was to finally be there and even more of a gift to have shared it with close friends! Last weekend while travelling for a wedding, we had some time to kill in Portland before our flight, my friends and I went to Great Notion's OG location for beers and lunch! I couldn't pick just one pour so obviously I had to get a flight:
* Blueberry Muffin - Fruited Sour (an absolute favorite, this is the one we see every so often in MA and I'll always buy a can even if it's $9 a pop #worthit)
* Boo Berry Muffin - Fruited Sour (such a fun seasonal take on the Blueberry Muffin)
* Double Strawberry Cheesecake - Fruited Sour (tasted *just* like a strawberry Cremesaver!)
* Oktoberfest - Marzen (it's that time of year!)
* Little Haus of Horrors - DDH DIPA (this brew was DANK!)
+ Matt's BBQ Tacos is located here and we were blown away! Chopped Brisket Tacos and the beef fat Waffle Fries are where it's at!
We loved that they had such a large, covered outdoor space so we had a relaxing lunch before heading downtown to explore Portland!

I absolutely love this spot! Great Notion is one of my favorite beers! Spacious and chic taproom. Big and beautifully well lit patio that's dog friendly. Good music playlist, too! Fast and friendly service, clean bathrooms. Overall, great experience!

We met friends for drinks and light snacks so our experience with the menu is rather limited, but what we had was quite good.

Great notion does the streetwear kind of thing where they do small runs of some funky stuff that can sell out quickly, never to be seen again. With that said, it makes visiting a bit of an adventure, because while they do have some beers that are always available, you never know what new stuff is going to be there to check out.
The tacos (and chips + queso) are greasy, but delicious. If you are looking for something "authentic", mole mole is right across the street, but if you want to check out some texas-style bbq/breakfast tacos, definitely don't sleep on the offerings here.
