Ordered latte with honey lavender syrup and a matcha latte. Both were amazing. Also ordered breakfast sandwich and avocado toast. The avocado toast was little bit on the bland side but was good. Loved the breakfast sandwich. The ambience was good too!

Edit to put up front, that the staff were fantastic!
Original review: While I knew Guilder was sold. I didn't realize they were completely leaving behind all that made Guilder its specific charm. Re-branding is common. Expecting Guilder's awesome food menu--maybe renamed--I was very disappointed in the options. And what I had: avocado toast, is poorly balanced flavors. Overall bitter and difficult to eat. The rose-pomegranate syrup in a steamer was awesome. The staff fantastic!! It feels like false-advertising using the recognizable name of Guilder instead of transitioning to the lesser known--but obviously more the ethos and aesthetic guiding the place--of Junior's Roasted Coffee--or another brand new name. This is like if Nike rebranded to stilettos. Still shoes, but confusing. This is still a cafe/coffee shop, but it's confusing. The specific charm gone. The food worse.

First timer and didn't stay long but will try again. Music was relaxing, service was fast and there was plenty space to sit.

$4 for an Americano and $5.50 for a scone. I miss the old Guilder. The new menu is not as good, more expensive and the vibe is no longer warm and welcoming. I used to come weekly, now it's maybe once a month.

It’s not the same :,(

Thank you for not allowing Hannah's dog in the shop. Too many places let entitled four legged owners bring them where they don't belong.

That said, we just learned about you and we're excited to visit but it seems your menu has changed. Please consider getting back to your roots. Meat is a-ok by me but those older items looked great!

Gosh the food just isn't good this time. Menu change thumbs down. This review is to apply soft pressure on the new owners to bring back the breakfast burrito and hopefully the Shakshouka! You can get good coffee anywhere in town so we used to go to Guilder for the food. But we'll head elsewhere until the menu options improve. Don't mess with a good thing!

This used to be my go to for good food and coffee in the neighborhood. It appears there is new ownership, and the food is meh now.

Be warned, this is no longer Guilder. Apparently it changed ownership recently and they are keeping the name, but changing everything else. It no longer has inventive, delicious, vegan food options, nor does it exude the same charm. It has become whitewashed into yet another generic coffee shop in Portland, so there's really nothing special here. It's a real shame.

I used to come here a ton. I love the care and purpose behind their coffee and my favorite latte always came out perfect. Seems some changes were made to the quality of the milk selections for example and some dishes have reduced in quality as well, in exchange for price increases. Reduced from 5 to 4 stars - With so many great coffee spots in Portland I’ll still be in every once and awhile but no longer a regular. Still a nice atmosphere and kind people.

They won’t serve you if you have your dog even if your intent is just to order & go.

Edit for their response: That doesn't stop the other coffeeshops across Portland from allowing dogs so feels like a generic response that does not appease me. No harm no foul as I just will not be back!
