Awesome food and a great atmosphere
One of my favourite local Pearl neighbourhood restaurants. Love the outdoor patio during the summer and the indoor spaces in the winter. The food is delicious and offers an exciting range to tempt the palette. Prices are moderate and fair. Service is fast and served with a smile.

Walk down the stairs to this adorable space where Hapa shared their space with Below. Chic & intimate!
Ordering is simple as they have no servers - scan the QR code, pay and voila! Delicious food is on the way! Usually delivered by a large pale dude with a towel. Everything is exceptionally delicious but the traditional lumpia is my favorite especially if you just want a snack.

If you want amazing food late at night, this is a hidden gem for Portland. The lumpia and musubi are always a pleaser. They are great for what space is given. They are efficient on the ordering system. It is not fast food and the bar gets crowded on the weekends. Manage your expectations.

We went to hapa barkada but did not stay. The service is still COVID compliant. The bar told us to scan the bar code on the table for the menu and food would be brought to the table. The ap they use asked for a lot of personal info we were uncomfortable sharing. We decided to leave and go to another restaurant.

Saw that The Korean Mom on IG had reviewed this spot and we knew we had to go. The food is so good.
Parking: It’s the Pearl District so parking can be scarce or it can be wide open. The Streetcar has a stop nearby so that’s a good option.
Kid-friendliness: It’s probably not a good place to take children.
Wheelchair accessibility: I’m not aware of an alternative for wheelchairs being able to access it.

Food is amazing. The fact that the bar has to explain how the ordering works is a bit unintuitive, but the wait staff/bar tenders are quick and knowledgeable.

We decided to try this place out for a friends birthday. The space is small but cute and intimate. Food was so good!! You do have to go to the bar to order your drinks which is fine, we left our table to order drinks only to come back and our table was cleared and cleaned up by the time we got back which was about five minutes since there was a line and we wanted a round of shots. We brought it up to the bartenders/staff. Cooks dismissed us saying to talk to the bartenders/server. Our server was no where to be found and bartenders did nothing about it. We managed to snag an empty table to finish our drinks. I was so sad! I only had a few bites of my food. You’d think the server would check first. We clearly had plates full of food and we were at the bar. Poor experience all together, but food tasted great!

This was a delightful experience. I showed up when they opened. The staff were still setting up but were super attentive when I walked in. The drinks are beautifully crafted and delicious. All the food we tried was flavorful and perfectly priced so we could try multiple things. There was live music the night I was there. Highly recommend for a fun stop after work

Love Hapa Barkada! I visited for my first time when I made my second trip to Portland and visited this part of the Pearl district to see an apartment I was interested in, walked by and saw the sign for “Hawaiian & Filipino Style Food” and was like, “Yes please!” They absolutely didn’t disappoint. I had to try the Poké nachos and the Lumpia, comfort foods to me ? Well, I ended up moving in those apartments and am so happy to be a block away and recently took a friend for his first time, and first time trying Poké altogether, so naturally we ordered some drinks and the Poké nachos and sat upstairs on the patio and listened to the DJ’s music and enjoyed the atmosphere and the friendly service, always appreciated ? Definitely one of my fave neighborhood spots!

We stopped in for a drink and were immediately impressed with the decor, ambiance, and hospitality! The food was really good and the drinks were even better. We had some poke, lumpia, and churros to finish off the night. The lumpia was probably my favorite. Perfect amount of spice and the churros had ube drizzle which was a fun spin on flavors! Will definitely be back!

Hawaiian and Filipino food made with a lot of love.
This place NEVER DISAPPOINTS!!! We got the catering size tuna poke nachos, volcano mochiko chicken, pork belly adobo, kalua pig rice plate, and adobo Mac-chicken sandwich. The food is so delicious and every bite is made with love. We’ve eaten in the restaurant before, but these photos are the take-out portions, which are still huge. It drives me crazy when I order something to-go and it’s half the size it would have been in restaurant- a problem I run into frequently but you won’t have at Hapa Barkada. And after waiting 40 minutes to eat it, it was still perfect- everything that was crispy stayed crisp. The entire menu is so insanely good it takes me forever just to decide what I want. You can tell the people who prepare this food cook with aloha and every time I finish a meal I’m looking forward to the next one! The ambience of the restaurant is relaxed, moody, and lowkey and it is in a perfect location easily accessible from the major highways if you’re in Portland metro area. Now we just need to make in it for brunch!
PS- upgrade for the chimichurri rice!!
