Never eaten Hawaiian style food before I visited this food truck. I didn't know what to expect but my taste buds were blown out of the city. The chicken and salad were incredible. Great food. Great price. Didn't take as long as some other reviewers have said, but even if it did, it would be worth it.

This is for sure my favorite Hawaiian place and my favorite place to get really good grilled chicken. One of the coolest things about them is that they offer a "mini" option and a "regular" option for $6.50 or $8.00 and the mini still brings a lot of food. They also have amazing spicy mayo, teriyaki sauce and hot sauce. They do offer masubi as well but I haven't gotten around to trying it just yet. Each meal comes with two scoops of rice, Mac salad, and whatever meat that you choose if you get the mini version then it only comes with one scoop of rice instead of two. The chicken teriyaki is my absolute favorite thing, the chicken is juicy and seasoned and exactly how you want it to be! 5 stars always and I've been here over 15 times.

Island Grill is one of my favorite food trucks in Portland! We were so lucky to stumble across it again walking home from PSU. We thought we'd lost them forever after the food trucks on Alder closed but recently moved to the corner of 6th and Columbia kinda near PSU. Their best menu items imo are the spicy pork and bbq beef, but their star is the mac salad and spam musubi. 2 for $5 crispy, hot, flavorful musubi is hard to find and it's 10/10 better than Roxy's. The mac salad is the best I've had. It's somehow light but peppery and delicious. Hot, fresh comfort food for a reasonable price is hard to beat. Not many people know that they moved, show them some love!

Truly my favorite food truck in Downtown Portland. Teriyaki chicken with the Mac-salad and rice is a perfect late-breakfast/lunch/or dinner. Cooks/cashiers are always kind and the service is fast (6min during busy lunch hours). Thank you for the good food!

Best chicken yakisoba in town!!

Not sure how this place isn't 5 stars. This place blows away 808 Grinds, Roxy's Island Grill, L&L Hawaiian, and a few others. The rice and macaroni salad are much better than other Hawaiian places, and the price and portions especially the teriyaki beef are unbeatable.

Funny story, on my way to LA I wanted to try Hawaiian Plate Lunch and lo and behold, before leaving Portland I got to try it for my first time! I cant speak about authenticity, but I can speak to fast service, lots of options, and fantastic prices! I got a small Kalua pork with rice and mac salad. For $6.50 I was very full and very happy! The mac salad was really tasty and the spicy mayo with the sauce that came with my pork over the rest of my dish was extremely good! Got to try the bbq beef, the teriyaki chicken, kimchi side and spam musubi. All really tasty! I would 100% recommend get a side of kimchi because it's very spicy and adds a lot to the whole dish. Cheap, quick, filling, and tasty, it doesn't get much better.

Yes please. I love me some kalua pig with Mac salad and rice!!! $7 for a small plate lunch. Heck yeah. The pork was very tasty as well as the Mac. Both were seemingly simple with no frills, but quite good. The small plate lasted me for about five hours.

All the things - really yummy food, fast and friendly service, and very reasonable prices. I visited this cart because I was craving Hawaiian mac salad, and they have all the offerings you'd expect - shoyu chicken, Kalua pork, chicken katsu, yakisoba, and more. I got the small crispy shrimp lunch (they have two sizes), which is two scoops of sticky rice, mac salad and six good-size shrimp and it was $8.50, simple but absolutely delicious and more than I could eat. I'll definitely be back to try other dishes, and next time I'll get double mac salad because it's so good.

There is not much about this place that felt Hawaiian, felt and tasted more like Teriyaki, and I'm pretty sure whoever took my order was Chinese or Japanese.. sloppy food, lack of seasoning/taste. No smiles or thank you. I highly recommended this new place I found called 808 Grinds, for only a dollar more you can get a lot of these same dishes but in a much higher quality, I'm not a regular. TRUST ME!

Horrible service, I ordered 5 egg rolls for $3.00. The girl said oh that's not our price anymore. If it's not your price anymore you should update your pricing. Then the wait to just get your food is horribly long.

The food is fantastic. Would highly recommend coming here, the service is quick too. Parking is ok too.
