Ok, we have a new recommend spot. Small place. Looks like just a corner bar but the food is very good. Small place but they do live music and open mic nights. We had the bourbon mushrooms and a double smash. Flavorful and very good. Cook Davion put it down on the food. 2 👍👍

Haymaker is the most cozy and hospitable bar and eatery around! I especially love the Low 'n Slow Braised Pork and the Lavender Gin Fizz (with gin or delicious n/a gin!) I also love the way the Thursday Easyfolk open mic fosters a wonderfully attentive and quiet listening room environment. One of my favorite nights to connect and see great music. An all around great spot.

Had one of the best meals, ever, here. The hanger steak was perfectly cooked. And so tasty. And the curated music on Thursdays is worth staying for. Will come back often.

Break bread, share a dram, we are fortunate to have Haymaker.
These times benefit from a backyard retreat, a space to connect with people, food, and music.

This place is great - exceptional food, full bar with good beers, cozy atmosphere with an intimate music venue. I've been there to meet friends, listen to some music, even played once at an open-mic. Five stars.

I love this place. I've gone for Bluegrass Wednesdays, but I expect the vibe is the same any time--relaxed, but focused on what is happening onstage. If you like to listen, this is the place for you. It's a congenial mix of neighborhood folks and music lovers from all over. The Haymaker Potatoes will seal the deal.

We love the music, food, and atmosphere at Haymaker. The way they connect with local music makers is so welcome. When I was there, there was a pop up collaboration with a new bakery in the neighborhood. So cool !

I have been the Haymaker Bar many times and love it. The food is great, the music awesome. If you want to go and talk all night, check the calendar, go when there is no performances scheduled. The Open Mic is one of a kind, with a high quality sound system and the ability to play more than one song. Great people all around, and thank you Haymaker for supporting local music!

The Haymaker is a fantastic local spot with great food, a full bar, and a laid-back vibe. The Thursday open mic is always packed with talented local musicians — one of the best in Portland. Perfect place to eat, drink, and enjoy some live original music.

The first time I went to Haymaker for an open mic, the bartender offered to walk me to my car after because there had been some issues in the area a few nights before. The second time I was recently diagnosed with celiac disease and had the best meal (steak) since my diagnosis here. Haymaker is a place for COMMUNITY. Bringing in a lot of folks to support the local music scene we have here in Portland (thanks joe!!!). It can be intimidating for artists given the intimacy of the room size as well as those super sick ear trumpet mics (portland mic company). For these reason I am always appreciative of people who show up to listen and support local art :) and very appreciative of the ways this space has been utilized to do just that!!
