This place is the Portland dream: an incredible farm-to-table dining experience in an unassuming, DIY-charming little storefront - which you can just walk into without a reservation, on most nights. Yes, the service can be a bit spacey and slow, if always well intentioned. But the food and wine are so incredibly lovely it’s worth a little patience. While you wait out The NY Times hype at L’orange, eat here! It hits a very similar, very high note!

First time since Covid, that I've sat at a restaurant and felt that the service was top notch. With prices rising and tip auto included, the #1 complaint I've had is that the experience doesn't justify the expense, despite the greatness of the food. Not at Heavenly Creatures, from the minute we sat down, we felt like every staff member had a vested interest in us. Glasses were graciously topped off, various wines were sampled, and the food blew our mind. The yellowtail toast was our favorite. Loved the intimacy of the space, felt like a NYC spot rather than Irvington. Can't recommend this neighborhood gem enough.

Service was 12/10. While Mark was a wonderful host, everyone who interacted with us was gracious. Truly a lovely experience.

The cleanly sourced dishes are prepared with care, and the intentions of the staff shine through the entire experience. I found the atmosphere to be kind, warm, and friendly, and was truly won over by the team here. Thanks for a great experience, and thanks for serving great, clean food!

The wines are well chosen and you could easily spend an evening roaming through multiple terroirs finding appropriate matches for each dish. The chef's wit and culinary talent was displayed in a gazpacho take on the old fashioned shrimp in cocktail sauce. Every dish satisfied our expectations and often surprised our taste buds.

A fellow wine industry friend recommended Heavenly Creatures to us during our visit to Portland and we couldn’t be more pleased. The vibes were chill, romantic, and cozy. The staff was friendly and knowledgable about the wines, and the service was quick but not rushed. We got the yellowtail toast and the camembert with potato chips. I preferred the camembert - the creaminess and slight sweetness of the cheese paired perfectly with the crunch and saltiness of the chip - while my boyfriend preferred the toast. We paired our bites with an Oregonian Gamay and a French Syrah. Delicious, and can’t wait to come back!

My favorite place, the albacore toast is to die for. A must visit if you’re visiting Portland or live here.

One of the owners definitely made me cry with a super dismissive and condescending attitude towards me as a solo diner who doesn’t drink. I come for the food which is AMAZING! The other servers are lovely and the food is outstanding so it won’t stop me from going back but heads up for anyone trying to have a sober solo date ?

Great place, we liked our salad and the wine was delicious. It was a little pricey compared to the other wine bars in the area, but the quality was great. We felt a bit cramped by the front door but it looks like they have a good bit of overflow space.

While I’ve dined here a few times and really enjoyed myself, this review is regarding reserving the lobby for an event. I reached out the week of my birthday just as a total long shot, last minute hope. Jena, Mark and Matty were so kind and helpful to make my birthday dinner super special and memorable, even with such short notice. From communication and coordination, to order and the actual service on the day of the event; I felt so taken care of.We reserved the lobby for dinner and wine for a group of 13. I was not expecting such beautiful decor and was delighted to see the table set with beautiful candles and dried flowers. The food was lovely and the vibe was exactly what I was wanting.

Came for a glass of wine and a snack, stayed for dinner - which was tremendously tasty. This wine bar specializes in white burgundy wines yet also has a lovely selection of bottles. Shout out to Mark for making our night. We will have to come back to try their famous yellowtail toast.

Had wonderful food and delicious wine here. Loved the lighting and intimate feel of the space without it being too small or crowded. Mark was so knowledgeable and helpful. I wish he would do wine classes/tastings. Excited to come back.

A lovely spot. The atmosphere hugs you and you want to hug it back! I love an open kitchen chefs counter situation (where we sat) and the chef handed dishes over to us, so fun! I will be back. A perfectly nestled lovely wine bar with the best food on broadway. Aren’t we lucky! Thank you heavenly creatures and everyone you have that makes it special! Pork Croquette, Yellowtail Toast + Rice pudding. MUST HAVES!!
