Can be a hit or miss some days. I love their scones but more than half the time they’re just not great at all. Their display case is beautiful though!

Their French Silk is the best cake in the world, bar none. I always get it on my birthday as a special treat to share with friends.

Been coming here since I was a little kid with my mom. Must have caught them on their ‘angry’ day, service was borderline rude, abrupt and they clearly wished they were somewhere else. And asked for a tip?

HBB had a wide variety of cakes to choose from and are a highly recommended bakery in Portland. They offered affordable taste testing's and delivery services as well. Their customer service was impeccable and gave us ease knowing we were in good hands. The cake was delicious, I still have some left in the freezer for special occasions, but HBB also provides you a complimentary mini cake for your first year anniversary to commemorate the occasion! We had the white swiss buttercream, white cake with apricot filling.I also recommend them for their other baked goods as everything in their cases are DELICIOUS.

Walking before my schedule appointment....I noticed this bakery and I had to check it out. There was a good amount of people already inside order dozens of yummy items. I ordered a snickerdoodle and a lemon square. I couldn't even wait. I ate the snickerdoodle while checking out Service was gentle and quick! She finished before I finished the cookie. The place itself feels like a home and smells like sweetness. Definitely worth checking out!

This place was so charming, the staff were so helpful and sweet, and they have the BEST cake pops. I'm so picky about my cake pops, but theirs have the perfect levels of moistness and sweetness! I've never had macaroons like theirs either, and they're just so good!

An old school bakery with a modern touch. Their donuts are the best anywhere. I highly recommend this place over any of the more popular places in the Portland area. The maple bars are excellent and the raspberry filled donut is bar none, the best filled donut that I have eaten in my life. I didn't call it a jelly donut because not like jelly at all, its more like a pie filling. You can tell that it has real fruit in it. I have only had their donuts but based on those, I'm going to say that the other items must be great as well.

I love this place. I think that it is the only confections and bakery shop in North Portland.

This is by far the best bakery in Portland and Oregon and maybe the United States. Reminiscent of all the corner bakeries I went to in the German neighborhood I lived in as a child in St. Louis.

Want that old bakery experience where you pull a number and a smiling face helps you choose from the plethra of amazing goodies? From fresh baked cakes and cookies to bread and rolls that make you wanna eat one in the store (or car)! You have many choices at Helen's, as I call it. It is the spot for simply put together recipies with complex textures and techniques. Their Ganache is amazing! My favorite is their MnM cookies! Now, I prefer a soft gooey center with a crisp edge on my cookies but those cookies bust all those lines we set for our cookie preference. How does a hard cookie still manage to Melt in (my) Mounth (MnM)? Grab a bag and see how long they last! There's a reason they will be celebrating 100 years in 2024!So when you have a party to go to or it's Sunday after service... treat yourself with taste from "ol'Helen".A Portland oldie and still goodie!
