One reviewer mentioned parking on the bottom floor for an overnight stay at McMenamins and feeling it was probably a safe garage, although nothing is guaranteed downtown or anywhere in the city. The garage is huge and underground, closing at 12:00 am for incoming and outgoing vehicles, with a reopening time of 5:00 am if cars are not moved. It is located right in the middle of Portland Downtown, under a Whole Foods, close to Powell’s Bookstore and Screen Door. If a customer spends $10 at Whole Foods, they can get the first 90 minutes free, and some have found parking for the whole day for just $2, which seems like a glitch but a good deal. Part of the lot is accessible during business hours and is part of Whole Foods.
