Exceptional fish and chips. Truly English style best I have had in the US since I came here. Better yet are the chips !!!! And slaw.

Really yummy beer & food. Our waiter was super sweet and fast paced, a really good experience for our 2 year anniversary dinner!

This place is great English bar, Has best fish and chips in Portland. The decor is awesome, the staff is friendly. It is perfect amount of crispy and flaky with rich flavor and old fashioned fries, Potatoe salad is the best I ever had at a restaurant, also best tarter sauce I have tried. Also great beer selection. A+++++.

Great fish and chips, homemade tarter sauce, and friendly service. (If you don't like horseradish, avoid the slaw!) The French fries were obviously made in house and the fish was perfection. No nasty fishy smell there. Pretty relaxed atmosphere as well. I'm looking forward to going back.

Very nice vibe. Good food and friendly service. I love places that feel European and this one does. A great place to chat and munch.

Very English Pub! Looks the part, lots of room, wall to wall wood, stocks many drafts and spirits: had steak and mushroom pot pie with beer, exactly what I was looking for.

Haven't been here for a.long while but this place is still just as awesome as I remember. I completely forgot to bring my darts but they still have boards. Inside and outside seating. Nice staff, great suds and terrific food! Can't wait to go back.

They are struggling to reopen, but really made a great effort to accommodate our vintage motorcycle club & a Soccer event broadcast on the telly. My food was great, happy to support a local legacy business. ( I wore a Chicago MC club shirt after they made me a honary member)

Great selection of a wide variety of beers and awesome pub food! I've not met a single member of the staff who was not kind and helpful. If you've never been here and you're wondering, give it a shot. I've never left this place regretting my visit.

The fish was delicious, but the “Chips” I have to give it a “Negative 10” Burnt to the crisp..Called in to let them know about the chips, the response back was” what do you want me to do about it”… Not good customer service with an attitude like that. I was told basically it was not her problem because it was done in the kitchen… She basically said it was my fault because I did not look into the take-out Container before leaving the premises..I was visiting from out of town, staying in Boring Oregon and drove to South East Portland to make sure that I could have these wonderful fish and chips, that I remembered so well…So please when purchasing anything from this pub look at your items before leaving the pub…And hope that you get better customer service than what I got on the phone… I thought to myself very pricey but it was OK because I remember the fish and chips so well…

Delicious food, and fantastic service! The place was packed when we went but the servers were running all over and never missed a beat. Exceptional

Interior is as English as it gets, great decor. The beer choice is wide, and the food is unparalleled. I had the pastie, and wife had fish and chips. Perfect. The chips (fries) are perfect. Perfectly sized, cooked, seasoned, and portioned. Just get an extra side of them to share. Good service, even with them being a bit shorthanded. Definitely going back again

I've been going to the horse brass since 1996, and I've never had a bad time there. Amazing food, great beer, and friendly staff for more than twenty five years? They're doing something right! I do miss the cigar menu, though. :)

We were visiting friends and decided to order food from here. It was fantastic! The fish was perfectly breaded and fried! The chips were amazing and the homemade crisps were tasty! My boyfriend was brown in England so has a real fondness for fish and chips and so we decided to give it a try. We were not let down about this in any way! Next time we visit we will definitely have again!

Dark, a little musty. Just like your typical British pub.Delicious British pub fare style food, comforting and really hits the spot. Scotch egg (warm not cold you heathens) and a ploughman's. Perfect lunch for two! Add a couple beers/ciders and maybe a dram or two. Top notch.Great tap list, great booze selection. We haven't been to the horse brass in a couple years, maybe a couple before COVID times even. The vibe is just right and the staff is always super chill.
