This was my first banh mi experience, so I can't compare, but I ordered the "house special" and it was awesome, as well as a fantastic deal cost-wise. The service was great too. I don't live in the area but will definitely make the effort to go back.

They are probably one of the a few banh mi spots in town that served their sandwich warm and it makes a huge difference. The breads are crusty and airy, fresh veggies, tasty pâté.Staffs are really friendly. It seems like they get a lot of local, neighbor-ish customer. Would to go back :)

Enjoyable little hole in the wall. Quality of food and service was very good and prices were cheap! I especially loved that crispy outside of the bread with a chewy inside. It's a key piece of a good Banh Mi. Nice job!

I definitely think I found one of my favorite banh mi places in PDX. Everything was so good, filling, fresh, and flavorful. It definitely is a hole in a wall type of place. So whether you're sitting down real quick to chow it down or getting to go, this place was great.Service is quick and straightforward. I got the house special and I easily could have eaten two of them. Iced coffee is alright, but does the job if you're craving some!

And HOB makes among the best in Portland. They bake their own bread fresh daily. Their selection of meats are delectable. And they're always so polite.Pro tip: get the spicy pork. I've never had a banh mi quite like it.
