Got Burger and fries with the radicchio salad. Fries are good but very basic. Salad was very fresh, unique and delicious. And the burger was good, had a “taziki sauce” of some kind or it was the house made pickles that gave it a “Greek” or “gyro” kind of taste to it. But everything was quite good!

Hunker Down blew me away with its rockfish chowder. It was one of the best things I ate on my trip! It had the perfect balance of flavors- creamy and well-balanced with chunks of fresh rockfish, potatoes did not fall apart. It tasted so warm and comforting on a rainy day. Will be dreaming of this chowder now...Didn't even get to take a picture, it was so good!
Also, their pancakes were fluffy and yummy, with delicious strawberry jam. We also tried their soft serve with chocolate sauce and honeycomb in the mini-size. Decadent but a great dessert divided by two.
Don't sleep on Hunker Down! They serve top-notch food in a down-to-earth setting.

I stopped in for lunch while delivering meat and eggs in the neighborhood from my farm. The radicchio salad was amazing! The slightly smokey and creamy dressing was the perfect pairing with the little bit bitter lettuce. I'm definitely going back for the schnitzel and fried chicken sandwiches! The common eating area was well heated and super comfortable to dine in.

So disappointed- the much lauded Mac ‘n Cheese was sweet?!? And not cheesy. The fried rock fish tasted old and way too fishy and the hazelnuts in the salad were stale- how do you get stake hazelnuts in Oregon? To summarize- YUCK!
Just like the other reviews including “Sara Prado’s” review the food “was one of the most dissapointing meals I have ever purchased....this was more of a sloppy microwaved…” - ditto! When I went to pick it up it was not ready he needed another 10 mins… then the bag of food was open sitting on the metal ledge outside of the cart in the cold…. Based on his attitude I checked my two orders of fish & chips ($$34.00) and it was a mush mess looked like microwaved. I made the mistake to return it & when the employee gave me attitude, not apologetic at all & he refused to give me a receipt for my $34.00 spent - he started yelling at me.
He said he “made $1400 that day and he was busy and that when my order came in he didn’t see it.” I said that makes no sense. He started yelling at me and told me to leave -he said that I was trespassing and he was gonna call the cops. I said i needed a receipt -I never got one… he shut the window to the cart & I started videotaping him - he came out of the cart and was all aggressive… flailing his hands, yelling pointing, in my space/ face… disgusting & disheartening 😔

You gave me two large soft serves COVERED with Frosted Flakes. I order this delicious treat from Hunker Down often, but this one was special. The amount of care taken to put Frosted Flakes on the bottom of the cup before the first layer of ice cream, then on top of that layer, then on top of the next layer of ice cream was heroic.
Thank you for your service. And for the ice cream.
