Please open back up, this is the best and most favorite place I’ve ever been to. Been a long time 15+ year customer.

So sad to hear about your closure. Since moving to the neighborhood a few years ago, you've been a regular spot for us. Your homey atmosphere and delicious food will be missed!! You've been a gem!

Unfortunately, it sounds like Ichidai is not reopening after the quarantine ends.

Best sushi place I've found in Portland. Both the food and the ambiance remind me of traditional sushi places in Japan. The fish is very fresh and well prepared. Their bento boxes are delicious and very authentic. Treat yourself

The BEST Bento Boxes ever! I love trying a little bit of everything and the variety was astounding. There were so many items on the menu I was interested in, and that's saying something since I can be a little picky. Everybody, including the non-sushi eaters and sushi enthusiasts, were fully satisfied.

Ordered the dinner combination, food came out pretty quickly even though they were busy. Everything tasted delicious and fresh only reason I did not give 5 stars was because the portions were kind of small compared to the price.

I went here recently for a kind of date. It was a small place, and looked maybe a little aged but definitely a gem. I went on a Sunday and my waitress was very busy, but she was super pleasant and helpful and kind to us.
Low key Japanese restaurant hidden on SE Powell. Nothing fancy, one of my favorites in town.

Great real Japanese restaurant. Not just a restaurant that sells Japanese food.

This is one of the best sushi places in town. Don't get overwhelmed by the large menu, because everything we had ended up being delicious. There's a good mix of traditional sashimi and some more fusion rolls, and dishes from the kitchen too. Make a reservation if you're headed over on a weekend, and enjoy!!

My Ichidai dinner bento, not only tasted great, it was a bargain. This restaurant is a little hard to find, but worth the effort.
