it's giving disco elysium vibes (derogatory)
prices on the menu aren't what you'll pay, their menu hasn't been updated in years. so if you want the bill to be a surprise, come here i guess?
oh and they don't have the lunch special they advertise on a big banner outside. they also don't have a buffet
the food sure is food!

Came with family once before and it seems their kitchen always has a problem.

We came here on a whim because we were in the neighborhood and wanted Indian food. Our experience was seriously amazing!

The service was so good - very warm and personal. The ambiance was very cozy.

And the food was just the bomb dot com.

We got three types of naan, butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and a veggie masala. All of the food was absolutely delicious. We will be back for sure.

My favorite Indian food in the city by far! This gem is a find, you just need to know where to look. The brightly colored paint scheme leads you up to a second story dining area in a converted turn of the century home gone restaurant. The cozy dining area has only recently been reopened for a limited in-house dining option. The floorspace is relatively limited keeping the number of diners small, the noise level low, and the atmosphere intimate. The staff, as I recall, are kind, though I've not had much interaction with them as my family mostly enjoys takeout. The owner is a lovely woman, whose name I can never remember (I'm terrible with names), with a charming British accent and I always enjoy chatting with her as she rings me up. Impressively she notices when I haven't been in for a while which is endearing, making me feel as though I were visiting the restaurant of a dear friend. The food is by far my favorite Indian food in Portland. Spice level made to order, -2 for my family, spice wusses that we are, but you can get it as hot as you like. Our favorite dishes include chicken tikka masala, vegetable korma, pollack paneer, vegetable samosas ,garlic naan, and depending on who's in charge of ordering that evening, mango lassis. Truly ? love this place.

Vegetarian options: Almost every dish, if not every dish, has a vegetarian option.

Parking: Parking can be tricky, but it's not generally a problem to find a space within a couple of blocks.

Person working there was very rude about us getting 6/10 and 8/10 spice levels on our dishes saying it would be too much for us. Then the dishes were bland and not spicy at all. The taste is also just not good. We won’t be back.

Avoid this place. Rude staff!! Like the other people who gave low reviews have said: that woman who works there is NOT nice.

Had the best experience here! The woman who owned the restaraunt was the kindest to us and served the best food! Mango Lassi was the perfect drink to cool off the spicy paneer!
