A welcome addition to Cedar Mill. They have good coffee, pastries and lots of seating options, WiFi, etc. Upstairs is better for working and downstairs is better for socialising.

Love this place! I'm not a cookie person, but their chocolate espresso cookie ? is fabulous! ☺️ and latte ? ♥️
Great coffee shop in Cedar Mill - good coffee and baked goods. I really wish they would give ceramic mugs by default, or ask if the drink is to go. Most people sitting in use disposable cups, which is such a waste!

Matcha was delicious. A great place to do some work as they have plenty of seats and some of them are next to an outlet.

Good coffee. However, they would not provide free water to drink with our food.
I wish they'd open another location because this one is always crazy busy. I dislike them asking my name, and half the time the person assumes my order is to go (it never is) without bothering to ask. Those are really my only two dislikes. This part of portland the choices are good baked goods OR good coffee, never both. This is the only exception: both are good here, and the lovely clear "no dogs, sorry, it's the law" sign is WONDERFUL! thank you!!

After patiently waiting 15 minutes and watching all the people before me get their drinks, I finally asked where our drink was. It was right in front of them. Not sure for how long. This is the third time this has happened since the school year has started and has made my kid late to school each time (we’ve only stopped here three times before bc he didnt have time to grab breakfast at home since we drop siblings off at elem earlier and we come 30 min before school starts.. lessons have been learned?)

In town and first visit to this modern, friendly coffee house. As a celiac I am looking for good coffee and gluten free eats. Their pastries looked fabulous for gluten lovers btw and I would have loved a blueberry muffin or cinnamon roll. They have Gluten Free Hand Pies and I asked if they could handle it celiac friendly I would order one. They knew exactly how to use separate tongs and protect it from gluten as they prepared it. The pastry on it was flaky and buttery and I was immediately concerned that it wasn't gluten free because it was so good. Rest assured it was gf and I ate safely. We had real caramel lattes to go with and it made for the perfect after run brunch. They did make an error on my husband's order, but they more than made up for the error. We would absolutely come here again and highly recommend Insomnia Coffee Company. Make a point to visit soon!
Dietary restrictions: The gluten free hand pie, with egg and havarti, was excellent.

I really want to love this place, it's so close and the employees are wonderful. It also isn't quite as cold-steel-and-concrete forbidding as many PNW coffee places.
Maybe it's just my choices, but I've not had anything really tasty here. Today I had a Blueberry muffin--very sticky, overbaked, and heavy, with surprisingly little flavor. I thought it would be great combined with the blackforest mocha...mistake.
Blackforest mocha was a mocha with added berry syrup. Unfortunately, chocolate plus coffee plus berry turns out not to go together. At all. It was kinda like paint thinner with berry overtones. Possibly sticking with the original black forest flavors--cherry, chocolate, and whipped cream--would have been a better choice. It was topped with a sweet, dense chocolate whipped cream that didn't help.
So...love the spot, can't figure out which items to order, I guess.
