How should I say it! My Grand mama might be mad. But J&L Bar-B-cue is some real Southern Cooking! I ordered them Oxtails, rice, and vegetables. My grandma can't cook like that. Big giant Oxtails with that gravey over a nice bed rice. Man u missing out if don't go grab that plate. Well worth the price. It feels good to be a traveler and be able to get a great meal far away from home.

Came here because it was nearby and I was hungry. The guy that greeted me was very nice. I tried to order a pulled pork sandwich and he kindly told me they were out. He suggested the oxtail to me which i've never had before. The food was delicious. The cabbage has lots of flavor and it's almost kinda sweet. The oxtail was sooo tender and juicy. Seasoned really well and paired good with the rice. And the cornbread was the perfect thing to finish it off. :) Would definitely recommend this.

Me and my girlfriend Nisha bell ordered here. We both got the chicken wing basket. May I tell you the chicken was off the chain. So good. My only complaint was they forgot my toast lol but anyways will DEFINITELY will order from here again.

What an awesome local BBQ place! I ordered the Ribs and they were so good! The beans and potato salad also seemed to be made from scratch and tasted great. I was surprised at how large the portions were and how high quality the food was for such a reasonable price. I can't wait to walk back :)

I’ve been driving by this spot for awhile now and I gotta admit that BBQ is my kryptonite. I’m pretty picky and I feel that not all bbq is created equal. One sunny day about two weeks ago I decided to pull over. Listen people, do NOT sleep on this place! Why I waited so long to stop, I do not know. I ordered the rib plate and it wasn’t your basic food. The ribs were tender, juicy and flavorful. The beans were yummy and not overwhelming. The potato salad was delish and just brought it all together. Everyone was welcoming and friendly like you just walked into a family bbq. It’s nice to have some great bbq in the NEP! Come through, you’re going to be glad that you did.

Their catfish was AMAZING and the corn bread and green beans with bacon were a hit. This is the REAL DEAL! Drove all the way from SeaTac because I didn't have ze papers (proof of vaccination) and Tina hooked it up! From St. Louis and I'd put this place up against ANY of the best St. Louis BBQ joints. Thanks for the hospitality Tina!

Disclaimer, from Texas and have high bbq standards. It's $20 for a brisket plate but my brisket was at least half inedible salty fat and the potato salad was off, didn't taste right. Mac n cheese was okay. Too expensive to not be really really good
