Katelyn provided outstanding service. I started with a martini, perfectly crafted and continued with a mixed greens salad. Entree selected was King Salmon. All provided an exceptional experience. Thank you

Requested a standard table, was seated in the bar area instead with one bartender taking care of the bar, the service bar, and all the high top tables. Nice guy running his but off, but it took over 20 minutes for him to arrive at my table, another 20+ minutes before the food arrived and the steak was cold. Third time in a row I've been served a cold steak. Nice cut of meat, cooked to order but the kitchen is too lazy to send it out hot, or they just don't care.

We took our grandson for his favorite meal with family. We loved the service and the food!

Greeted immediately and asked about accommodations. Lovely. Service all down hill from there. Server never introduced himself, our receipt says Cyrus. He was inattentive and bordered on rude. There were always one or two tables empty in his area. The water server was more attentive. First round of drinks 3 out of 4 ordered Jakes tea. The second round the teas had so much ice in it there was hardly any fluid to speak of. Asked for the 3rd to be taken back and less ice. They dumped the drink into a new much smaller glass sans ice and returned it. The calamari was over cooked. The chowder was great, the salads were wonderful, entrees all seasoned well. Dessert was hit or miss...the apple crisp was jammed into a small ramekin but the cake was wonderful and cooked to perfection.

Our reservation was to celebrate a birthday and they rolled out the red carpet for us! It was a lovely brunch.

Not a fan! I read the reviews and found the good to be just ok...for a higher end meal it lacks quality. Filet was not good and my fiancé had stuffed Salmon. Fair at best.. I wouldn't recommend

Jake's Grill is located directly across the street from where my hotel was located, and I was wanting some beef on this particular night....Jake's did not dissapoint. I sat at the bar and was well taken care of by my server/bartender Manuel. I enjoyed some wine, the wedge salad and ribeye. While Jake's is not a place you're going to be dining when on a strict budget, it was worth every penny. The food was perfectly prepared, the environment was dark, warm and familiar, and the service was stellar. I would absolutely return to Jake's on my next trip to Portland and highlly recommend that you stop in for dinner, appetizers or just enjoy some wine at the bar in this old school top-level American steakhouse establishment.

The service by the waitstaff was excellent, flawless. The food was good - not inspired perhaps, but entirely competent. So why the low rating? I'm massively dissatisfied with the service by the hostess who seated us, and that colored the entire experience. When I made the reservation on-line a week or two in advance, I requested a booth by the windows if possible. When we arrived, the hostess told me that she couldn't seat us in a window booth. Fair enough - they were quite busy, and all the open window tables were set for parties of four. So we were seated at a table for two next to an interior partition. Not bad; and not what I'd asked for. 15 minutes after we arrived, another couple were shown to a table in the middle of the dining room. The woman was obviously not pleased, wouldn't sit down, spoke to the same hostess who'd seated us. The hostess left, came back, and proceeded to seat them in a window booth one table removed from us. She (or perhaps the waitstaff) picked up the two now-superfluous place settings. This tweaked my playground sense of justice. When I caught her attention, I asked her to explain why that couple rated and we didn't. She said the restaurant seats by server, and the server for the table we were seated at was "up" when we came in. The problem with that is - our server was also taking care of that booth. I told the hostess she needs to come up with a better excuse, and asked to speak with the manager. When I explained the situation, the manager offered to move us to a booth, which now apparently was possible. We were halfway through our meal, so we declined. He then invited us to sign up for their "frequent diner" program, which includes "preferential seating." I'll give him this - he doesn't lack for gall. I'm pretty sure we'll pass on that, since we have no intention of ever going back.

They went above and beyond to make my sister feel loved on her anniversary. The details from The menu with their number of years together and last name, the food and the dessert. Thank you for helping us make her feel special while her husband couldn't be here.

Portland perfection. Excellent service with an aim to make you happy and comfortable. We had creamy clam chowder and a tender fllet mignon with mash potatoes and peppercorn sauce.

Great table service and wait staff is very accommodating. I requested a lunch item during the dinner menu hours and request was granted without issue.

We had a wonderful birthday celebration for my mother and we all enjoyed our food. Our server was attentive and remembered our preferences from a previous visit. It was also nice that the front desk knew a great place for a family photo and took a nice picture of all of us.
