Whenever I travel, I always look for the top rated Korean restaurants that aren’t all-you-can-eat bbq. We enjoyed Han Oak so much that we decided to try the sister restaurant, Jeju, and loved it equally. The set menu has similar side dishes and exquisite house-made ssamjang, plus delicious meats, veggies, and lettuce for making ssambap. We ate until we could eat no more and then we ate some more! It was an unforgettable meal.

Set menu. Pretty unique set of dishes. Not spicy or full of garlic. I loved the variety of dishes and various mix of meat and vegetables. Relaxing atmosphere and good service. All 4 of us enjoyed the meal and we felt full when we finished.

Everything was delicious, we left full, and I'm glad we went! Do I think it's worth that price? Not necessarily but that's just me. Great variety of flavors and textures. Good service. Nice pacing of the meal. My only complaint was for the main course they sacrificed functionality for aesthetics. The rice paper wraps were so tiny you couldn't fit anything in them and there were very few of them. Most of the lettuce leaves were also really small so it was difficult to make lettuce wraps with. My favorite dishes were the kanpachi and the misugaru meringue. The quality of the fish was impeccable and the flavors and textures of the meringue were exceptional.

The table service was excellent. The servers were knowledgeable and friendly. The fixed menu was tasty and flavorful. The cocktails are delicious, but the wait was long for drinks with only 1 bartender.

Great food. Ate at the chef's bar and really enjoyed it.

Something great about a restaurant that feels super nice in every way but is so warm and welcoming. The staff all seem so happy to be there. It gives off the feeling of being in a family kitchen.

Food is awesome.

I am gluten free and they were on top of it.

Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options and many things can be adjusted.

Chef Peter Cho and pok pok's Andy Ricker put together an amazing meal! Thank you so much for coming back to share your food Andy, and my wife and I are looking forward to enjoying dinner at Jeju!

We anticipated excellent service with the course menu, but different servers brought out each course, leaving us a but a bit confused who to approach for any requests.

The three course was outstanding, though one cut of beef was extremely tough and inedible.

That said, the atmosphere was fantastic, with the wood fire and cozy ambiance creating a warm vibe.

I would still recommend this to my friends.

Overall I thought it was a decent dining experience. I didn't feel anything was overwhelmingly delicious but everything was very solid. I was disappointed that once the ssam meat was all cut and displayed it seemed a bit dry even though cooked nicely. Overall it's a bit of a tricky format in that sense. The supplements were very good and highly suggest. Cocktails and Mocktails were also well thought out and tasty.

In the end what I really wrote this review for was the restaurant was extremely hot due to the open fire I guess? It's been particularly hot in Portland but because of that it really took away from the dining experience. I wish the space was maybe able to have air conditioning that could keep up with the open fire? I felt bad for the people at the counter infront of the fire they must have been melting. Anyways it was a bummer that the very warm restaurant took away from the eating experience.

If the service had been good I would have gone with 3 or 4 stars... but wow it was pretty bad. The food was good (not great) but it was fine. WAY overpriced for what you get though. I don't mind dropping $200 or more or a truly fantastic meal with excellent service but this not at all that. The meat was very fatty, the flavors were good but lacked zing/zest/spice... something missing from every dish. Our reservation was at 7pm - just after 8pm they brought the check and so we asked what time they closed and the waiter said "as soon as you leave" OMG. They were in a rush to close from the get go...brought our food before our overpriced cocktails even came out. Don't waste your money here. This is not a "dining experience" - it is a very expensive quick bite of average food.

Dined in the private room tonight as a group with kids. The food was great, the place is beautiful and highly recommended. More than anything though what made this a great night was the kindness and professionalism of the staff. They were super accommodating, kind and chill. High praise!

Kid-friendliness: Incredible staff, kind and accommodating, never pushy.

Nothing more disappointing than making the effort to support a restaurant that you’ve heard great things about and they shut down early and shut you out.

Came into Portland for a weekend trip and looked up some good places for a nice, fancy date dinner. Jeju did not disappoint.

Everything we had was top tier fantastic, the atmosphere was stellar, and for such a high class experience, we felt the meal we had was very reasonably priced even after some add-ons.

The banchan was some of the best I’ve had from any Korean restaurant, and extremely unique to this location. Of course you had daikon and cabbage kimchi, but pickled carrots, stellar flash-fried broccoli and cauliflower, and a silky, roe-topped egg set this apart.

The dumplings were incredible along with the kanpachi for an excellent starter.

The ssam was outstanding, perfectly seasoned cuts of meat provided along with lettuce for wrapping and a variety of toppings.

This perfect meal concluded with easily the best flan I have ever eaten in my life, hands down. This desert was so beyond stellar, I rarely have had a desert so perfectly executed.

If you’re thinking of hitting up Jeju for a special night, definitely check it out! You will not regret it!

Dietary restrictions: They accommodated my nut allergy very well.
