Me and my girlfriend were talking about my birthday last year in October and how we came here and had a horrible experience. We joked about how I vowed to give a bad review and here I am because we were reminiscing about how truly terrible this place was. We came here with high expectations and I had always mentioned how I wanted to eat here since it was so close to my apartment. In short, the food was incredibly bad. To the point where we couldn’t eat more than a few bites. The pasta was cold and the chicken they used tasted like a microwave meal. It was truly bad. Kitchen staff was constantly arguing. Our server couldn’t help us with the wine selection and couldn’t find anyone who could. We got the quality of a microwavable meal when you the paint the price of fine dining restaurant.

The kale Caesar was really great. And that’s about it. The Bolognese pasta was soggy, and I had to add cheese, salt, and red pepper flakes to make it taste better. I had a lingering off-putting taste from the meat afterwards, it might have been freezer burned or not sourced from a great place. I saw all the positive reviews so was really hoping for a great experience 🙁

Amazing service and food. I went in tonight on a date night with my partner. We haven't been in here in a few years. I was impressed by the staff, their kindness, attention and the food was amazing. Got the organic salad with sherry vinaigrette, chilled red wine ( holy cow finally a place has this!) and the chicken sausage ravioli. My partner got the pomadoro and stout beer. Both were great and he was happy with the protein portion (chicken) of his dish. Overall an amazing night here. Grateful for the nice staff, as we started out at the bar, thought it was too cold and moved. They were attentive and helpful when I had questions and needed more wine. THANK YOU. I rarely get to go out and this experience exceeded my expectations. We will be back soon. 10 stars.

Even on a busy night the food and service was fantastic! Loved the selection of wines available and the options of the specials for the day. So happy to have been served by Kaden, so friendly and patient even though we came a little close to closing time. Will definitely be back!

My mom and I enjoyed the food, drinks, and service! Our server was quick to make sure my mom’s food was 100% vegetarian and offered a variety of options for her. We ordered a margarita, risotto, and ravioli with pesto sauce. I highly recommend the ravioli- the pesto was AMAZING.
I want to commend the staff on their professionalism while dealing with a challenging table next to us! Our server was extremely respectful, and requested that their child (probably 3?) didn’t run in the street. I’m surprised by the customers explosive reaction. It was really nice to see that despite the negative attitude, the staff still offered to pack up all their food to go!
To any manager reading this, you have a welcoming & patient staff!

this has been one of my favorite places in Portland since moving here back in 2000. wonderfully searing, garlicky caesar salads (get it with chicken!), fresh made pasta and a fantastic wine selection have kept me coming back for over 20 years. Roland and his staff are so excellent!

Every dish is prepared perfectly with subtle but dynamic flavors; you can tell the chefs put a lot of care into crafting their recipes. Please don’t skip on the Kale Caesar or the cheesecake!
