The food, the service, the drinks, that atmosphere is always absolutely fantastic. You feel the warmth and love they have for this restaurant.
Always great service, great food, and great dinning experience. I wish all restaurants in PDX would have as much thoughtfulness and attention to detail as Kachka.
It was great! I brought a couple friends who were there for the first time and we all loved it.
Absolutely spectacular. They recommend a tasting menu approach, and that's a great way to go. The two of us ordered a bunch of apps, dumplings, etc. and then split one main (cabbage rolls). Unique wines, unique flavors, and excellent service - really, really nice. Thanks very much!
I seriously LOVE everything about Katchka. The food is always outstanding, cocktails (anything with the horseradish infused vodka) and service are amazing, and ambience can't be beat. This time we came to celebrate some January birthdays. We ordered 3 different perogis (cherry, beef and cheese) and herring with a fur coat (our usual staples) which never dissappoint. This time, having arrived during happy hour, we went a bit bonkers and ordered the caviar, pickles/charcuterie, and bread boards. We ordered this amazing bread loaf filled with cheese and an egg on top that was ridiculously good (sorry- don't know the name). Then topped it off with these delicious donuts and a cream dipping sauce and a pear dessert. We had food coming out in rounds and it was such a treat. Our server Zoey was outstanding. We never needed or wanted for anything. They had great suggestions for us when we asked. And the desserts came with lite candles despite not having asked. They made the evening super delightful. Worth every penny.
I was really excited for this meal, but it seemed that our table did not have a server. We'd been seated for twenty minutes when we noticed the table next to us had been seated, greeted, and ordered their drinks and no one had spoken to us. We finally asked a floating waiter if we could order. Our food came out quickly from runners, but a lot of it was lukewarm. We were only checked on again when our meal was finished. Such a bummer since this does not seem like the standard experience for this restaurant.
I love the gummy bears that fall from I don’t know where and the little pancakes This place is worth way over 5 stars definitely infinite or more. :) —Sebastian S.
Food could have been good but it had too much salt. The place is cramped and the music too loud. There were four of us. The servers were slow, the food did not come out together, and the 22% tip that was added to our check - put a sour taste iin all of us. That kind of service barely would have made it to 8% - And I've tipped 30-40%.

This place deserves a Google review! My husband took me here for dinner. I’m a former USSR citizen who’s been in the USA for over 30 years now.
I was thoroughly impressed by the food and customer service. The atmosphere was amazing, with a great decor and music that brought back many memories from my childhood.
I ordered the rabbit in the clay pot with potato pancakes, while my husband opted for cabbage rolls. For dessert, we indulged in vareniki.
Derek was an absolute delight! He went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience. Despite not being from the country of origin, he did an outstanding job, always checking on us and providing valuable recommendations. Another girl was checking on our table to make sure no dirty dishes and water filled. I am beyond happy that this place exists!

Just had one of the most sublime food and hospitality experiences at Kachka in a town known for quality food and hospitality experiences.
The service is thoughtful, warm and beyond attentive. Special shout out to Laura and Adam for absolutely annihilating us with affection and hospitality, they heard it was our first time there and took every opportunity to lean in and make the occasion truly notable.
The food is spectacular, the plating is a comfy delight and the punctual coordination with which dishes came out made the whole meal truly move along joyfully.
I will be back with compliments and a vengeance for more latkes.

You have to get the dumplings! I’ve had pan fried before but I had a friend recommend the garlic broth. 10/10 for tuorog and pelmeni and the fall mushroom salat! We decided to try something new like the chicken shila palvi versus getting our favorite…rabbit in clay pot. The dill flavor is very strong for the chicken, keep that in mind if you like/don’t like dill.

One of our favorite restaurants in Portland. Delicious, creative and fun food that you'll not find in many other restaurants. Herring in a Fur Coat, Rabbit in a Clay Pot, the amazing Dumplings, the in-house Vodka infusions, the desserts... It's ALL delicious.

Great service and excellent food! We got so many dishes and all of them were so good! The pickle platter was super fun since each item was pickles a bit differently.
