Authentic plate lunch. I will drive out of my way for the Mac Salad and on Saturday they sometimes have excellent poke' that hasn't been "haole-fied". Legit Hawaiian food made by Hawaiians! Aloha!

Needs to keep regular hours. Have been by to get lunch twice. Closed both times.

Is this place still in business I have come by during business hours and they have been closed multiple times. I love Hawaiian food and is one of the few places nearby that I can go to on my lunch break It is always disappointing to pull up to a closed restaurant when the business hours posted online state otherwise

Kauai Island Grill is located next to a Plaid Pantry just off Murray Road. The restaurant offers limited seating inside and outside. Been going here for years, love this place! I'll drive across town just to get my fix. Legit, local food. I'll normally call in my order and the food is always piping hot and ready for pickup. We've ate their chicken cutlet, fried saimin, desserts, hamburger steak, kalua pig, lomi salmon, lau lau, and teriyaki chicken. I LOVE their mac salad! They offer a variety of items on their daily menu and even have weekend specials. Occasionally, they'll have poke and poi. We've enjoyed everything we've ever ordered.

Love auntie and uncles place! Ono food, hits the spot every time! Call before you go, make sure they're open. It's a small family business, so family comes first. Sometimes they can't be open, be sure to call! Amazing haupia and laulau. Definitely best Hawaiian food and aloha. Mahalo!

While I can't speak for their food I can say that my first experience and interaction will never bring me back here. I agree with the person below who said this place is never open. I came in on a Saturday at 1:00pm, on Google their hours are from 11-6pm. The door was wide open and the owner was outside talking to an elderly couple, so any normal person would assume that the restaurant is open. i parked right in front and proceeded to go inside when this man rudely told me, in a condescending tone, "Um we aren't open". Then why would you leave your door wide open with a sign that says "Open" facing the outside? There were several ladies sitting inside, who I assume to be family members of the owners, pointing to the sign that said "closed", which was NOT the side facing outside at the time. Forgive me for reading it like a normal person. For the owner- maybe you shouldn't be casually chatting with people with your restaurant wide open if it is actually closed.

The food is quality, business is small and homey. The establishment is a down-to-earth local food joint with great product.

My favorite place to grab a real local style plate lunch in PDX, especially on Fridays when they run specials.
