this place is pretty dead most of the time, except for take out and delivery; the front counter is straight up jumping but the wait staff have little to do. so fabulous place to go with a large party and no reservation (except prob timbers/thorns nights).

Honestly shocked this place doesn’t have higher reviews! My partner and I live next door but didn’t think too much of Kung POW due to it never being busy inside + the somewhat average rating. But a friend recommended we try it and now we can’t stop going. We call in our takeout order and it’s done 10-15 minutes later each time. My partner says the honey dry fried beef is one of the best American Chinese dishes he’s ever had. And I can’t stop ordering the sesame tofu...
First off, a proper/authentic east asian especially Chinese restaurant wouldn't serve white rice in a tiny small plate, it's always in a bowl, unless it's with other food or fried rice then it'll be in a big plate with depth. There are cultural and functional reasons behind. Mapo tofu was bland, wrong tofu type, wrong spice. The tofu portion was good.
