Amazing atmosphere and attention to detail, we loved everything, especially the duck and the asparagus, our server recommended the perfect wine to complement our meal, total banger!
I never write reviews, but after my experience I really wanted to post something. I have a medical condition and should not have attempted to eat French food, but a good friend was in town and I really wanted to eat here with the. The server was SO kind and the kitchen offered to make a unique dish for me to enjoy. It was an altered version of the Sturgeon dish. I was amazing and it was so kind of them to work with me so that I could actually eat with my friends. So impressed with their kindness, quality and care.
What a delightful experience. The space is so welcoming and cozy, the service is superb, and the food was fantastic. Order the orange cake it is insanely good!! I had a mushroom crepe for my entree but tried my husband’s pork which was fatty and juicy and delicious. I can’t wait to go back.
Every dish exceeded my expectations. The wine was superb and not as pricey as a lot of other high-end restaurants. Dining area is very small but felt intimate rather than crowded. Cannot recommend highly enough!
L'Orange was perfect for our anniversary dinner. Each dish shined with depth of flavor, beauty and creativity. The wine pairing recommendations were unique and delicious. The ambience was creative, welcoming, and really fun. And the service was everything that dining at the restaurant bar should be - personal, welcoming, relaxed, attentive. I could go on, but instead I recommend you stop reading reviews and start booking your reservation!
Food and wine were excellent. The wines were expensive, $16-28 a glass but were excellent. The Chardonnay and Pinot Noir were out of this world amazing. The appetizers, celery soup and pate tartlet were outstanding with fabulous taste depth and textures. The salads, brassicas and house, were flat and nothing to write home about. The portions were good sized for sharing. They had a lot of crunchy bits on them but were missing fat and acid for some flavor. Something salty like cheese would have been appreciated. The entrees, duck confit and sturgeon, were good but not fabulous. The duck was sousvided and fortunately not too dry. Beans in the dish were fresh and had good texture. The fennel was done 3 ways in the duck confit and it was nice without being overpowering, but it was lacking fat and salt for that luscious mouth feel I expect with duck. The sturgeon was ok, it’s not the best fish to start with and it was a tad overcooked, but the chickpea sauce was delicious and made up for it. We would like to see a better fish next time, maybe sea bass, halibut, or swordfish. It was worth trying the sturgeon as it was an interesting choice. Desserts and coffee were all delicious. We loved the ambience and would return based on the fabulous building, wines, appetizers, and desserts.
I made a reservation for my birthday prior to their "Top 50 Restaurants in the U.S.," courtesy of the NYT, and I'm glad I did - reservations fill up quick. The food was great, but what really blew me away was their ability to be flexible. My husband was coming home on an international flight and his flight delay put us missing our reservation by 30 minutes and I got into contact with them the second that I knew (sorry for the 6:00 am text ?). Granted, it could have been a coincidence that day (it was a Friday and maybe there weren't too many people clamoring for a spot), but they were able to work with me and allow us to come to our table for a 1.5 hour service instead of a 2. That alone would make me come back, the food really was a plus at that point ? there are also nonalcoholic drink options that I really appreciated as I no longer drink. But yes, come for the food and stay for the service! Excited to try more of their menu next time.

We were fortunate that we had houseguests arriving shortly after L'Orange gained notoriety via the NY Times. We were able to get reservations before they became overwhelmed.
I love the space - they're located on the second floor of a building that's seen all kinds of uses in the 100+ years that it's been standing. Rooms are laid out in a compact maze that reveals itself bit by bit. It's a delightful place for a meal where you can feel like you're almost the only ones present.
The menu is small, but with enough variety of starters, salads, and entrees that everyone will be able to find something they like. On the night we were there, beef, sturgeon, duck, mussels, and gnocchi were offered. The wine list had items that were exclusive to the restaurant, as well as others that were made by the owner. We had a lovely owner's Albarino, only the third local offering of this Spanish white that we've encountered.
As I write this, I just looked at their reservation page, and, while prime time seating is unavailable, I'm seeing early and later availability on multiple nights. Grab 'em while you can.

Perfect restaurant! Inviting atmosphere and quality food and flavors. Unique wines, including orange wine, available. The cauliflower app with the crispy bits was amazing, as were the duck and sturgeon. Would highly recommend!

We had a wonderful experience and meal at L’orange. The initial serving of bread was so delicious.. warm with soft butter. For our medium plates we got gnocchi and cauliflower.. absolutely wonderful. So airy and full of flavor and the cauliflower was paired with pear which was an amazing flavor combination. Sturgeon was unbelievable.. I just wish I’d had two of them! The beef was a pressed patty of short ribs.. seriously great food…. For me, however, the clams and mussels were the topper. I could eat these all day long with the yummy artisan bread dipped in the sauce.. holy smoke! For desert, we had the orange cake.. talk of our ride home it was so good! I am not a wine drinker myself, so I had the Italian lager…. It was fine, but everyone was raving about the wine, so I imagine that is as spectacular as everything else. Our server was Chris. He was engaging, fun to talk to, and attentive. Would highly recommend! Thank you for a great night!

Incredible night out at L'Orange. Every bite we had was flavorful, complex, and downright delicious. I never thought that a garlic and almond soup would be something I could rave about but here we are! There are no bad spots on the menu, but the Duck, Tuna, and soup are all must haves. Highly reccomend!!

We were drawn to L’Orange given the recent NYT & Eater press. We appreciated the price points (no dishes over $30), the ingenuity (unique flavors), and the technical food preparation (which was well executed). Where things fell short for us is overall taste. While we appreciated the big swings, sometimes, less is more. The gnocchi and soup left us missing more classical preparations. The best dish was probably the sturgeon (caviar helped). We appreciate why it’s receiving buzz, but local favorites or more elevated options are probably better if it’s a special occasion.
