The absolute worst service I have ever seen. I gave this place two chances because I thought to myself maybe it was just a bad day for them, but no. I got the same server both times and was rude to everyone at our table, later to find she was the owner’s daughter. Thank but no thanks, there are so many other restaurants that give you the food experience and service in PDX.

We've been really disappointed lately with the Mexican food options in Portland, and La Cocina just made up for all those bad experiences. Really great staff, and tasty food. The Tamarind agua fresca was light, tasty and not overly sweet. The guac was fresh, simple, and very flavorful (without having a bunch of extra spices, which I hate). The mole sauce on the enchiladas de mole was thick and rich, though the steak was a little bit on the grisly side, but overall really enjoyable, and the rice was not your typical Mexican version of Uncle Ben's. Even the beans were fresh and tasty. The enchiladas poblanos were great. Will definitely be going back.

They got my order wrong, and then were rude about it on top of it

The mole and guacamole were excellent. However, they wouldn't split our check, which was fairly frustrating. Also, they asked if we wanted chips, salsa, and guacamole which we agreed to, not aware that we would be charged for those things.

Hands down the best Mexican restaurant in town, can’t believe I didn’t find this place sooner. Food is so delicious and they have a variety of dishes that I haven’t had as good outside of Mexico. I live 30 minutes away but would gladly drive here any day.Vegetarian options: Don’t sleep on their vegan tacos. The rajas poblanos and mushroom taco in particular are fire.

The atmosphere was amazing. They have plenty of plants and lovely artwork. If you are wanted good insta pics, here is the place to do it. The food is meh. It's Portland Mexican food. We got the table side quacamole, chimichanga, carne asada and mushroom tacos. Everything was high quality, but definitely needed some acid or lime. The service was also meh. Our server looked bored out of their mind and seemed very annoyed with us for ordering. The price isn't awful for what you get. I can see why people like this place, but I think there is better more authentic food elsewhere.

This was my second time dining here and the food was excellent. I had the Empanadas Poblanas. The red sauce was quite spicy but so flavorful and delicious. I wasn’t sure if the 2 empanadas would be filling enough but they were. My husband had the Mextlapique and also really enjoyed it. It was a nice day so we sat outside although the atmosphere inside is also great so if you don’t get a spot outside you won’t be disappointed. We arrived about 6:30 on a Monday and didn’t have to wait. It was much busier when we left around 7:45 but I still don’t think there was a wait. The only downside to eating outside is that cars park right next to you so if you’re not comfortable with people coming and going right by you then I recommend sitting inside.

Pretty good Mexican. Chiles relleno was cold and hard. Chicken mole was good. Abrupt service. Pretty good Margheritas. Not busy.

I was waiting for a Togo order from another restaurant and got hungry! I went in and was warmly welcomed by all the staff that I encountered. My server gave me some of her recommendations. I went with her favorite the carnitas enchiladas. Delicious!!! The food is made with love. I started having an asthma attack near the end of my meal and the Bartender gave me some hot water which I asked for. Excellent staff and food. I will be back to try more items!

The food was delicious !!!!PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEROOOOOOO…We ordered some chilaquiles that took 45 minutes or MORE, the whole family ate until we finished; at intervals the “Manager”Perla Flores asked me how I wanted the chilaquiles sauce, 30 minutes later she asked me how I wanted the eggs, (Technically she took our order 1 hour before, corrected it, and even offered us the protein to add to the chilaquiles which was sausage). The chilaquiles finally arrived after 1 hour after we finished eating and the eggs were raw, when I asked the “Manager Perla Flores to change my eggs she got upset even though I ordered them correctly the first time, I understand mistakes happen , it is a matter of attitude and willingness to resolve the situation, she was always very challenging and not very empathetic. She brought the eggs again raw and WITHOUT THE PROTEIN That is, the CHORIZO (however ☝️) we didn't want to bother "The manager" so as not to receive more attitudes BUT it seemed unfair to me to pay for a dish that took a long time and was also incomplete so I told her In the most attentive way he changed my dish because the chilaquiles were already cold, incomplete and my eggs were raw AGAIN. At the time of the bill to pay we told her that it would be better to give us a Menu to take away, substituting the chilaquiles to which she REFUSED to deduct them from my account, saying that she would NOT do it. I asked for the “Manager” and she aggressively told me it was her, blaming me for starting to eat them. To which I responded that if he had brought the dish in a timely manner from the beginning, none of this would be happening. Finally he said that he would do it just for this occasion and OBVIOUSLY that it will only be for this occasion since even though I ate the TASTIEST MENUDO IN THE WORLD? I WOULD NOT GO BACK TO THAT PLACE WHERE THAT WOMAN MAKES HER DINERS FEEL HUMILIATED.
